• Original Theatrical Trailers

Color 98 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated R
Peter Gallagher (The Idolmaker, The Underneath) and Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill: Vol. 2, Legal Eagles) ignite the screen in this scintillating story of love, lust and obsession from Randal Kleiser, the director of The Blue Lagoon and Grease. Michael (Gallagher) and his childhood sweetheart Cathy (Hannah) go to Greece to spend the summer on the isle of Santorini–where, despite his love for Cathy, he finds himself lured by Lina (Valérie Quennessen, French Postcards), a vacationing French archeologist. Lina's exotic beauty mesmerizes Michael, and he becomes torn between the woman he loves and the woman he lusts after. But when he finally reveals his feelings to Cathy, she surprises them both by confronting Lina. When the two women discover that they are drawn to each other, the three lovers find themselves forever affected by the most passionate and inspiring summer of their lives. One of the film’s highlights is the haunting and beautiful score by legendary composer Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barbarian).

Available for the first time on DVD in 16x9 widescreen!

I hope one of the 80's films is Extreme Prejudice and the 2000's one is the Pianist.

I thought it was a very good release. It has nice detail, but the color timing is on the green side. Seems all releases have this look on them.

To be honest, my recollection of every version I've seen of the film long before the Blu - in the cinema, on Super 8mm and VHS - had quite vivid greens and faecal browns.

I am so in for Le Doulos.

Looks like I was wrong about the old Criterion OOP titles too! Maybe Criterion isn't one of the labels with an SC deal?

Since it appears that Kino is releasing titles previously released by Criterion, I'm hoping for Fallen Idol and Bob le flambeur also.

Could The Man Who Fell To Earth (1974) be on the table or is it still locked up with Lionsgate?

The encode on the last release was pretty terrible.

Just, so everyone knows. KL released LE DOULOS on VHS years before Criterion released it on DVD.

From the 2 films you mentioned, one is with KL and the other is with another label. Last confirm and deny

Arrow seems likely, but I can't see Twilight Time being the other. My guess is it's a combination of two from Arrow, Criterion and Shout.
