Default BSG for BD

According to the "sources", Universal is preparing a single BD box set of all 4 seasons of BSG, including the pilot mini-series, "Razor", and "The Plan".

"The Plan" is a yet-to-air tele-movie supposedly set on Caprica after the initial Cylon Attack. I've heard there is at least one appearance by Olmos in the movie, but its supposed to be separate story arch from the one detailed by BSG.

Anyway, The box set will be released "some time" after the final BSG episode and presumably "The Plan" will have aired. By my rekoning, the Final BSG episode is slated for March 20th and will be a three-hour finale episode shown all at one time. Afterwards, the episode will be split into 3 parts for syndication.

The scuttlebutt has it releasing this year. Hopefully, I would expect the BD release of BSG to be on store shelves before Christmas this year.

Shh! It'll be easier to accept if we just give them our credit cards and have them ship it -- we can look at the bill while we re-watch all the seasons.

I'm hoping it streets under $150. Higher than that and I don't think I could justify it, as much as I love BSG.

it would be cool if the (1979) Version was remastered in 1080p! I tried viewing the new BG and I just cannot get into it. I am a fan of the Classic Show More.

I have already spent more than that on S1-4.0 on DVD.... I would imagine the entire series on blu-ray would be in the ballpark of $300...

Probably... Though I hope not

I guess we'll have to wait and see... to be honest I'd probably pay anything they ask, but I'd be pretty ticked while I hit that "Submit Order" button.

I certainly wouldn't mind having the entire series on BD, especially since I've been watching it in awful looking SD on Space in Canada, and holding out for the Blu-ray release. But...I'm definitely not all over it, like some. Where I tend to watch movies repeatedly, my few tv series DVDs (none on BD yet) have never gotten a rewatch. It'd have to be a pretty good deal before I jump.

I've always had mixed feelings about the new BSG. I think it strayed way too far from the original BSG (1979). Too much pc and sex and completely unlikeable humans.

Almost makes you wish the Cylons would win.

I have the 2003 pilot. Dont know if I will buy BSG on BR.

If the box set rumor is true, I'll be all over that.

One of the best TV series currently on TV (and maybe of all time, depending on the last 7 episodes). I already own every DVD set they've put out so far, but will gladly spend the money to have the entire series on blu. Gladly.

That's exactly what makes the show significantly better than the original in my opinion. Being in doubt at times about whether the humans are the good ones added a significant level of depth to the show I thought.

Not seen anyone who actually liked the original more... I guess we all our opinions on things.

More on topic: I'll be there day one on this -- hope the box set rumors are true.
