I rarely go to the movie theater. I may see one or two movies a year. Mainly because of so many reasons listed here, such as cellphones, kicking of back of chair, etc.

I have just been waiting for the movies to come out on Pay Per View and spend $4.99 renting it rather than $8-$10 and all the hassle.

But to answer your question, NO, I have never walked out on a movie. I make it a habit to only see movies I really want to see and read some reviews on them. I don't ever blindly go and see a movie just to see it.

I have rented some very bad movies from Blockbuster or Pay Per View that I have turned off after only a few mins though. The remake of Rollerball comes to mind. As a fan of the original Rollerball I was sickened at the horrible remake that was made of Rollerball.

I almost walked out of Hallowman, but I had to see how bad that trainwreck was going to get.

No, but was asked to leave before the movie even started. Way back, in the 70's, a theater manager and 2 police officers said my friend and I were too "messed up" too see a midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show". They did give us a refund. I always wondered which one of us they thought was gonna drive.

its like in fast times at ridgemont high, the guy orders the breakfast, eats like 95% of it then asks for his money back. lmao

we agree on that

I walked out of Pineapple Express. I watched it on blu-ray after it came out but still didn't like it. I would never ask for a refund on a bad movie.

Police at RHPS??? Wow, thank god we didn't have that when I was going. I would have gone to jail every Friday and Saturday night for years!

I've only walked out of 1 film in my life, Nightmare on Elm Street 3. The puppet master scene where Freddy is controlling the guy with stings, oh man that scene where the string comes out of his arms and feet, I couldn't handle it. I was 11 at the time, horror movies never bothered me before so my father and I walked out and saw Over The Top with Sly. I loved it. Funny thing now is I LOVE Nightmare 3 it's my favorite in the series.

I have yet to walk out on a movie, I only go to the theater a few times a year and read reviews/watch all of the trailers before considering going to prevent having to leave. Also with my new setup in my room, I don't plan on going back to the theater unless there is a movie I just feel like I really have to go and see.

No regrets. I try to stay away from movies that encourage lust.

The rental place gave us a full refund.
if you are really worried about the morals of the movie, why not look them up before renting? The back of the movie case at BB also has a description of the movie

Miracle at St. Anna. One of the most boring movies to sit through. There was not one character that I felt for and could care less what happened to.

Great story! I lived in Boston for two years and worked at the Harvard Square Cinema, every friday at midnight there was a live showing of Rocky Horror. That show brought all type and it seemed like everyone was messed up. Thought that was part of the fun?

sounds to me like you need to go to nice theaters like i do
That's a total non-sequitur. If I got a disc and it was defective I would want a refund. I never at any time said I would ask for a refund because I didn't like a movie, I said I'd ask for a refund if the theater failed to deliver what they advertised and I paid for. How is it unreasonable to ask for a refund because they can't get their sound or projection working correctly? Read first before blindly contradicting. Of course, I've come to expect this out of you.

... also: we don't have nice theaters in Phoenix, just major-chain megaplexes and stinky discount cinemas.

I walked out of Troy once, because the speakers in the theater kept randomly making weird noises (cracking, whistling, buzzing, etc), and eventually I got too annoyed to keep sitting through it. It was a late showing, and they claimed to have closed down the registers, so my options were to a) come back the next day to get a refund, or b) just take home a bunch of random promotional stuff for various movies that the theater received.

Even though it was mostly a bunch of garbage, I went with option b.
