This happened i believe with Sopranos where the first season got a blu-ray release and then the whole series as a box set later bypassing individual seasons. Probably HBO’s way of testing the waters on demand. |

I am not going to buy every 4K release for $30 when I know it's only a matter of time (WHEN, not IF) until there is a full 4K box set.
Why spend $240+ when I can wait and spend $100 or less (eventually)? It's a great show, but I already put down plenty of money. I'm not going to double down again in a similar monetary fashion for no reason. |

HBO's complete series sets are always thick plastic cases for each season in a slip-box. No reason to think it would have stacked discs.

It’s very possible they do the same as the Sopranos and release a boxset after a few seasons trickle out. I’m definitely holding out for 1 set. The low price of season 1 is tempting but I’m not in the mood to watch the entire series yet. I’ve only seen each season once as they come out. When the 4K set does come I’ll gladly binge watch.

Very true. I don’t mind double dipping for a series that I’ll watch frequently but my wife has no interest so I would really only be able to watch a few at a time.

Lol sometimes I do. She’s an amazing woman, letting me buy 3 4K panels and helping me return 2, 2 UHD players, a new AVR and upgrading all my speakers and I didn’t hear one complaint except when we were carrying the heavy Vizio P back up my stairs lol. My ex would ***** and moan every time I picked up a title. I’m very lucky.

So, I finally decided to bite the bullet and watch this show. I have just purchased the 4K season 1 set for $27 brand new sealed. Too bad there weren't any deals like this on Black Friday.

Season 7 is the one I want most on UHD. It's not necessarily my favorite season, but it would easily be the best looking of the bunch, especially the battle scene in "Spoils of War."
Also, I've been re-watching The Sopranos, and I'd love it if HBO re-releases that entire show on UHD. It has the potential to look fantastic on the format. That and The Wire are by far the two best shows of all-time - I'd love to have a UHD box set for both. Unfortunately, it's unlikely. |
