And don't forget John Wayne. He first noticed something was wrong with his breathing on the film Circus World (1964) and at first attributed it to the fire scene (he was almost killed in the collapse). After getting it checked, he had a lung removed in between In Harms Way and The Sons of Katie Elder (both 1965). Probably from smoking but some blame radiation fallout on the set of The Conquer (1956)....
