Is GATTACA OOP? Seems like the price shot up, and I can’t find it directly from Amazon, Walmart, et al.

just wondering if because of the pressing plant consolidation perhaps we need to only include titles that have been confirmed to be OOP. it may well be that some titles aren't available for the simple reason that they are further down the list due to delays on newer titles. i'd imagine a repress isn't a priority in most cases.

![]() Yeah, it sold out during the BF sale. It's now listed in the OOP section on Powerhouse's website. https://www.powerhousefilms.co.uk/co...bad-trilogy-le |

1 - very few titles are ever officially announced as OOP. Technically, as soon as the pressing is complete, the title is "out of print", because it's not being printed. And companies rarely advertise when they sell out of product. If we wait for official announcements, we might as well abandon the thread entirely. 2 - The rumors and questions about what might be sold out are interesting and important. Alfred Hitchcock's "Jamaica Inn" is still officially "going to be reprinted", but people have been waiting two years for that. If I hadn't bought the disc when it was first clear that there were stock issues (because of this thread, or at least a similar one), I'd be looking at the crazy secondary market prices now. I do think it's important to distinguish the source of information and whether it's a fact or a rumor, but I don't think we should stop trying to spot things that have quietly gone out of print. "This is starting to look like it might be out of print" is way more valuable to buyers and collectors than "This movie is now officially 100% unavailable anywhere except ebay". |

This is a tricky time to determine if something is really OOP as almost every studio faces delays in getting more catalog stock made. Tread carefully. ![]() |

I speculated in the official thread here but I imagine the sale of the corman library has had something to do with things. Perhaps Shout Factory didn't acquire these titles, or perhaps they did but have a different release planned. It's also possible that it just isn't a money maker and the new bosses at Shout have decided that this release needed the axe. Whatever the case may be... I'll be a bit surprised if they aren't re-released somewhere in the next few years by someone.
