This is such a lazy argument; everyone always says this whenever someone names a movie they don’t think is that bad as a personal least favorite. Maybe I just value different things in movies than you do, you know? As someone who’s watched roughly 5000 movies ranging from all genres, styles, countries, and eras, I found nothing of value or pleasure or JW whatsoever. That doesn’t mean I need to watch more movies; in fact, watching a lot of movies is the REASON I hate it so much, really.

I'll take Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom over Lost World and JPIII any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Said this before but Jurassic Park and Jurassic World are the only good movies in the franchise IMO. The other three are varying degrees of bad, but they have their moments. |

Disagree. Jurassic World feels tonally weird. It's self referential/meta stuff is sooo odd. The kids and the divorce subplot is cringey. The handling of B.D Wong's character is really jarring. The main dinosaur is not as scary as even the Spinosaur (which was already a step down). The Claire character has no arc that is earned. She is wet blanket on the movie then magically turns into a heroin in the last 10 mins of the film.
I said this stuff before. So I'll just leave it at that. I haven't seen Fallen Kingdom... I heard elements of that are even more bizarre, but that it's more entertaining in a way. I understand peoples problem with JP III, as it's average and a straight thriller with dinosaurs, but I enjoy it for the entertainment factor and Alan Grant character. They lost the adventure aspect, focusing on thriller. |

![]() The tongue-in-cheek, self-referential moments are handled with much more finesse than the ones in JW, so they're not as annoying (including one about two-thirds of the way through that seems to "get" the appeal of this franchise better than anything in the other sequels). And the way Bayona leans into the horror aesthetics actually helps sell some of the more bonkers aspects of the story. Like I said, I seem to be one of the few people on the planet who feel this way, but you might give it a chance. Last edited by BNex99; 02-01-2019 at 02:36 AM. |
