Post conversions, like the format itself (and like just about anything in our hobby including UHD) can vary wildly from mild to excellent to better than native shot 3D. They've been getting much better lately(Ragnarok, Aquaman) compared to early misfires (Clash of the Titans).

I've not seen the Dawn conversion in 3D, but I sure would like it for curiosity and completism.

There's a pretty clear intent argument with conversions, though.

Unknown. The UHD (Like all UHDs) will be region free.

Post-conversions can never, by definition, be as good as stereoscopic movies.

Every single post-conversion I have seen has given me a severe migraine, while the native stereoscopic Pirates of the Caribbean 4 was a joy to watch.

I caught a 3D screening of this last year at the Aero. While I agree it was wholly unnecessary... it actually worked well enough. I can't say I'd ever want to watch it that way at home, but as a novelty on the big screen it was a good time.

It's been confirmed to be Region B. Which makes me think that a US edition is coming as all previous Second Sight releases were not region locked.

I’ll be ordering it for the R0 UHD then. Hopefully they decide to put extras and other cuts on UHD discs.

The press release makes it sound like each cut will be in UHD.

I'm betting on Shout Factory to release this in the U.S.

Everybody remember this post.

It's either going to be Shout! or Criterion. (With a tiny chance Arrow doing a US only release)

My money is on Vinegar Syndrome based on recent comments of a ground breaking deal with a filmmaker...

I believe they already debunked this, but at this rate, if it's anything other than UHD, it'll be a tough sell. Unless the SS edition is Limited and sells out ridiculously fast.

Criterion or Arrow probably would of gotten the UK rights aswell, so my money is on Shout!

That’s good! I’ve never seen the other cuts so I can’t wait to see them. Hopefully the extras are on a UHD disc. I can just keep my Anchor Bay blu-ray since the BDs will be Region locked.

VS would have been by far the best for image quality, too bad about them debunking it.
