As for box sets, sometimes I like them but sometimes I don't since I'm not interested in every film they include & would rather just buy what I want individually, even if it means spending a bit more.
9 times out of 10 I prefer individual releases (or at least individual cases inside of a box set) but with stuff from the 30's to the 60's it just seems like it's going to be a tougher sell to get people to fork out close to $30 per film than it would be if these were double features or box set titles. Truth be told I don't think I'd buy most of them regardless of how they were released as these just aren't my cup of tea typically... however for folks that love this era of horror I can see arguments both ways for sure.

Are you guys still buying Shout films and if so how much are you paying?
I've been caught up for a few years and only buying newly released titles as they become available.
I order from Deep Discount whenever a 15% coupon is available. Just order the new releases I want since last 15% coupon.
Up to last fall it was costing me $16-18 per title. I think The Tingler was the last one I got this cheap.
Now they are $20 w/coupon. The Hammers are more in the $22 range.

Same. I used to get my Shout Factory discs from Deep Discount for around $18 but now it looks like the best way is to wait 18+ months and buy direct. DD's prices across the board have gone up considerably.

Where does one find these coupons? I followed their Facebook awhile back expecting they would be posted there but it seemed like all they ever shared were just entertainment articles. I like ordering from them, so coupons would be nice to use.

They send me an email when they have a coupon. In fact I receive multiple ad emails from them everyday.
If there is an active coupon there is a banner on their home page about it.

Could try selecting "send me emails" in your account settings.

Hmmm. I wonder if I opted out of that when I first created my account without realizing it. In any event, I found a "join our mailing list" button on the site and submitted my email. Thanks.

The Movie and TV Deals section of Bluray.com https://forum.blu-ray.com/forumdisplay.php?f=49 usually has a dedicated thread (with the code) whenever Deep Discount has a 15% off sale, and sometimes threads are created for their other sales too (10%, 15% but only when you buy a certain number of titles, etc.)

Here's a recent one, for example:https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=314819

Hmmm maybe Shout will be the company to make a deal with Wade Williams, Susan Hart or even Paramount for all of their "on DVD but never made it to blu ray" titles. They would be a money machine if they could pull that off....

Someone just needs to force Paramount to unleash the kraken of releases!

I'll pay the $25ish for a nice new remaster. I actually think that's fair, and stuff like 10 to Midnight looks amazing and is worth the money. For the stuff that's the same old master with some new features, I'd maybe pay $10-15, but they rarely go that low.

The only times I order movies direct from Shout is if there's a exclusive poster or some other geegaw I'd like to have (like that sweet Tom Atkins action figure in the Night Of The Creeps bundle ). Meanwhile, Kino or Warner Archive or Twilight Time or Criterion will have their entire catalogues on sale four or more times per year, and with far more enticing prices. When a Shout title goes "on sale", and you're STILL paying well over $20, there's something seriously wrong with your business model.
a true SHOUT sale these days are the monthly updates from HAMILTON BOOKS...

Out of the 3 movies I got at Amazon recently the only one still on sale is Blue Dahlia $18.18 if anyone cares.

I frequently check the Deals Page, I assume others do aswell. https://www.blu-ray.com/deals/?sortb...atchedfilter=0

$20 is basically my max, I'll buy Criterion's, 4K's and an occasional Shout at $20 but of course I prefer WAC's 4 for $44 or whatever.

you know what, this is a business at the end of the day. if those titles move a ton of units, which in turn give us more titles down the road...don't we all win?

this is a business after all, and they're not even close to any versions of evil dead came out on dvd from anchor bay. how many editions of star wars were there on vhs?

people who complain about prices... do you think that every title is just a smash success? I'm sure scream as lost money on more than a few titles. they take some risks that don't pan out. and thats fine. but it will catch up at some point.

would any other company have put out hellhole or blood and lace? what about hell night? the house that screamed? evilspeak? over your dead body? village of the damned (with extras even)? session 9?

and those are just the titles I own. what slumber party massacre 2 when the first one didn't sell? scarecrows? without warning? deathstalker? brainscan? the mangler? texas chainsaw massacre 4? howling 3? exorcist 2? someone's watching me? beyond the gates? autopsy of jane doe? a dark song? there's a ton more lesser titles that I'd never heard of and even knew stuff that wouldn't be available if it weren't for them.

would any other company have put in the work for the halloween box set? was anyone else putting out critters? how gorgeous is that creepshow release?

yeah. I wish more titles were in the $17.99 - 22.99 range. I would have way more titles. but I've been happy with all the releases I've got. and there's a ton more I stil want to add to my collection.

I'm beginning to think if Shout/Scream doesn't announce The Incredible Shrinking Man soon, it may confirm the rumors that Criterion has it (which would be a dream come true). We know Kino doesn't have it.....

I got my shipment notice for Body snatcher! I am stoked for this release, this film scared the hell out of my mom when she was a child-she still refuses to re-watch it.

I don't completely disagree with some of the posts above. Similar to my last post - charge me $25-30 when it's worth $25-30. Don't make a slipcover the says "collector's edition" and try to convince me that it's worth it. Make those truly great releases Collector's Editions when it's stacked enough to justify it. Otherwise, bring back the more toned down releases, stuff that might not sell in huge numbers, multi-features, etc. Looking from the "business" point of view, you might get more people like myself blind buying or willing to pay $15-20. Selling 1000 copies at $15-20 is better than selling 100 at $25-30.
