Sorry if it's been asked, but is The Outfit (1973) something we could see from KL at some point?

I'm just curious if this means AB-PT's four other films would be available from Disney in the future:

Beginning of the End (Bert I. Gordon's giant locust movie)
The Unearthly (the John Carradine-Tor Johnson horror flick)
Eighteen and Anxious (50s teen melodrama)
Girl in the Woods (Tom Gries's lumberjack movie)
The Unearthly was licensed from Peter Rogers Organization for Shout! Factory's MST3K Vol. III re-release.

No because it's owned by WB.

Interesting...looking at their site, they may have The Unearthly, too. Speaking of PRO, I'd love to see Kino do a deal with them, too...give us proper blus of The Clones, Outlaw Riders, and the tv show Movin' On.

I'm curious as to why having a digital finish would prevent going back to the original physical elements and remaster, or even restore, the movie. The New World also is from 2005, possibly also had a digital finish, and yet, it didn't prevent having a new 4K restoration.

As for Brick, I of course can't say for sure what's what, but the available UK BD isn't very satisfying, and I guess it uses the only available HD master. It has a smooth appearance with some ringing that makes the master looks dated. It's possibly both degrained and slightly sharpened, and I doubt this is faithful to the intended original photo. In any case, Brick was shot on 35mm and there isn't much on the US BD reflecting this.

I'm not sure about the need for new extras, though this can always be debated, but I definitely see how PQ could be noticeably improved upon.

I understand, I was just wondering why the list price for Brick is $10 less than all the other KL list prices. It seems they are usually $29.99, with Brick being $19.99. No sale prices or anything, these are the full prices.

My general question is why is Brick cheaper than the average full priced KL Blu-Ray? I was a bit thrown by the KL Insider response since, as I replied, i assumed the full manufacturer list price was set by the company producing the product, not by the retailer who is selling it.

So, my question still stands haha.

Because it costs a lot of money and most of those movies are digitally edited, so they would need to find every piece of film and retransfer and then re-edit it.

Also it's a remaster/retransfer, not a restoration.

But it did have its humorus moments...so, hell, get 'em both.

In a PERFECT world, KLSC would also include Carradine's appearance on the Letterman show in which he calls this his worst movie. Though I happen to love it meself.

And if leading lady Melinda Casey/Plowman could be tracked down for an interview...even better!
Lee Gambin has announced on Twitter that he and John Harrison are doing the commentary track. My only issue with that is that both have stated elsewhere that they are not fans of the 'so bad, it's good' school of thought when it comes to movies like this. Gambin stated that right at the beginning of his commentary for NIGHT OF THE LEPUS, which was a slog to get through. Not that I want someone to rip a bad movie to pieces or take a MST3K approach but to completely approach them as seriously as you would any other film...no thanks.

Kino Lorber Insider: Can you tell us anything about the upcoming Bronson Blu-ray "Cold Sweat"?

I have the Spanish and Japanese blu-ray and the look awful. Bronson actually wears a dark blue T-shirt throughout the whole film.

On the Japanese and Spanish blu-ray itīs black.

Do you got a good HD master from Studio Canal?

Thanks!
Almost zero chance, it's either with Sony, who we have not done a deal with or back with one of the producers. It's not with Studio Canal.

The SRP for Brick is $29.95. We have no idea why Amazon decided to list at $19.95.

Hey KLI, do you think there is a possibility that Sextette (1977) could ever be released by Kino? Or any other Mae West films for that matter?

I'm not sure how much Sextette would benefit from HD as it seems like they smeared vaseline on the camera lens for every Mae West shot but I would love a release of this with some extras and commentary......

Sextette is with Crown International, whom KLSC hasn't licensed from yet. VinSyn is finishing up titles form their Crown deal, but they said they wouldn't be tackling this Mae West gem.
