A couple of years back i could have claimed to have seen every Simpson's episode but after the movie and the show just kept going down hill i stopped watching.

Seeing this kind of reminded how a part of my life has faded away.

Nooooo. It was such a good show 20 years ago. After about the 5 season it began to feel old. Now watching it makes me feel old. Wish Fox would finally cancel it.

I liked it, it's overly long (they will probably cut it) but I enjoyed how they put all the characters fro the past 19-20 seasons into the intro.

Nice intro, but it'll probably be the same crappy show it has become. I enjoyed it for the first 10 years or so, but I haven't even bought any new seasons on DVD since season 6 because the new episodes have been so bad.

Two minute introduction plus nine minutes worth of commercials is about 19 minutes of actual show.

lol, I'll still watch though.

Wonder if all Fox's animated series will be in HD tonight? I noticed King of the Hill was HD last week and tonight The Simpsons. Here's to hoping Family Guy will be HD soon so I can stop receiving DVDs all together, since I keep getting seasons of Scrubs and Family Guy as gifts on the "wish it was dead" format.

I liked the new opening. Kept good elements of the original and improved on them I thought. Best part was the tv falling.

Best Simpsons clips were shorts from The Tracey Ullman Show.

Simpsons Halloween Specials are still a treat for me.

Too bad the Simpsons sandbox game Hit n' Run wasn't an accurate map of town of Springfield.

Looking forward to more Simpsons the MOVIE sequels.

Almost tempted but never got into the Simpsons merchandise CRAZE back-in-the-day.

The show debuted in '89...

Season 5 was 15 years ago, not 20.

And guys, even though the recent episodes aren't as great as they once were, they still remain a higher quality than plenty other television on these days. If you don't feel like watching it, fine, but don't act like it's utter trite that deserves to be canceled.

No, they're just airing the movies cut up into episodes. No new episodes there, just the same movies they're putting out on DVD/BD, aired in a cut-up format.

I think the folks behind American Dad and Family Guy are refusing to do HD because they don't want to touch 16:9. I wish they'd just do HD in 4:3 if that's their only gripe. Pretty stupid, especially if they're animating digitally at a natively low resolution.

Wonder just how much of that will be cut for the usual runs. Absolutely loved seeing Grandpa in the car though. Such a clever use of the wider screen

I agree. HD 4:3 is still better than SD 4:3.

There are definitely still some episode I enjoy past the season 6 mark, but just got so disgusted with where the show went, I decided not to get them at this point. Too bad really. It was a great show before they changed the style of humor and drove the show into the ground.

I agree. HD 4:3 is still better than SD 4:3.
When you're used to 4x3 in animation it's easy to recycle most background and cut the cost of production. If you change to 16x9 you have to redesing everthing so some budget (for the shows) won't allow that right now..

It was great seeing the whole show in 16:9.... Looked really nice, glad King of the Kill was in HD too, I thought it was just going to be the new beginning and not the entire show.... too bad about Family Guy though....
