Don't MVD have Walking Tall? Based on what Blus MGM have released, I think it has to be one of these:

The Amityville Horror
Valkyrie
Mr Brooks
Be Cool

I'm thinking Mr Brooks... After all, they did say they had a Demi Moore title. We all thought Parasite, but it could well be this.

They also said it was a box office hit.. I don't think Mr. Brooks qualifies.

MGM was on autopilot by the 00's so I can't think of a single film that might be it. When was the Thomas Crown affair remake made?

I would be happy for Valkyrie! I liked that movie! I seemed to be the only person of everyone I talked to! But I’ll get it!

The Kino Insider at one point said they didn't have any post-1960 horror films remaining in their MGM deal, so surely we can strike Amityville Horror off the list. I don't think you'd class Mr Brooks as horror, especially if Hannibal wasn't being deemed such, so perhaps that's still in play. I think it must be between that and Valkyrie at this point.

With a grain of salt, perhaps, as many would consider Hannibal to be horror.

Indeed. The Insider seemingly thought of Hannibal more as a thriller, which is entirely understandable. I think you'd say the same of Mr Brooks.

Same here. I've never seen it and want to watch it before the two Quartermass films come out in July by Scream. I'm hoping that it will be a part of next month's sale.

Maybe Capote (w/Philip Seymour Hoffman) for 4K UHD?

Noticed a raft of (I believe) StudioCanal titles on Kanopy under the Kino Lorber branding which I don't believe have been reported yet:

Léon Morin, Priest
Touchez Pas au Grisbi
Outcast of the Islands
Seven Days to Noon
Un Flic
An Inspector Calls
The Holly and the Ivy
The Queen of Spades
Brighton Rock
Buffet Froid
The Deadly Trap
That'll Be The Day
Camille Claudel
Britannia Hospital
A Sunday in the Country (Un dimanche à la campagne)
Woman Times Seven

Worth bearing in mind that they might not all be released on Blu-ray, but the omens are probably good in the main, given that quite a few of these have Region B or even prior Region A releases. This likely means that Criterion have Le Trou, since the Kino Insider said they had one of that or Touchez Pas au Grisbi. And that's two Carol Reed titles now, which is probably our lot.

I wasn't sure if this was with Sony or MGM, but it does seem to be with the latter, so you may well have it. 'Box office hit' might be stretching it though (it only grossed $50m worldwide, but then that was against a $7m budget).

A Sunday in the Country

For a second I thought this was the 1974 film Sunday in the country. The trailer appeared on Garagehouse Pictures' Trailer Trauma volume 1. That would be an immediate buy from me.

If the above titles are indeed part of the deal, then the numbers are whittled down substantially. By my count, we'd be down to these for example:

1 1930s
1 1940s
6 1950s

The 60s-70s would still have over 40 between them, and 10 titles for the 1980s.

Yeah, I feel like it's better described as "Critically acclaimed, award winning" etc., rather than box office hit. But then again, as you mentioned, it did do well compared to its budget, it made about 7 times its budget? Not too shabby.

But how is it with MGM now? Isn't it Sony?

Nice! I will have to check this out.

As usual Amazon says DVD only which is never accurate: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Sunda...lu-ray/204255/
