Ok thanks for the tip about the missles. That certainly helped. Anyway, I guess everyone's got an opinion (I hated Fallout 3) but I think the game is fantastic! I just got done driving the Mech Suit and that was awesome! It really isn't that scarey though. The "scariest" part was when the weird medical staff turned mutant crawly things first appeared because they're so quick and they would skitter around.

Dead Space made much better use of the surrounds for scarey effect but this is a solid shooter; much better than the 1st FEAR PS3 port.

Maybe it'll get scarier now that I'm at the school.

Driving the mech suit is definitely a high point in the game! That completely ROCKED!

OK the elementary school was freaking freaky! Whoa! That part where your flashlight quits working and the lights are flickering and the ghost thing keeps popping out and rushing you was pretty freaky!

This game just keeps getting better the more I play it. I think I'll be sad when I finish it and move on to Killzone 2.

Well I beat it last night, I have to say i really like the story in the game, alot of freaky stuff, let my friend play, he was emptying clips on the wall, at inaimate objects, at what he thought was dangerous sounds..

When you start to empty a clip on the music itself, something is wrong..
By the time I got to the end I was desensitized to alot of the scary stuff.

I think once you have your confidence it becomes easier...

I finished it last night also. Heh, the game didn't really scare me but I did shoot randomly at a few things that made me jump. My favorite sequences were driving the elite mech and the firefight on the tram - that was awesome! Now it's time to go back and finish off some of the achievements that I missed.

I just started playing this last night, played through the first level and 1/2 of the 2nd. I enjoyed the demo. Never fully played through the first one, but recently picked it up for the 360 on clearance at target for $7.48, which i will try to play through before i play too much further into 2.

But this game is definitely meant to be played in the dark with surround sound and bass.

Man I hated that tram sequence. Those guys just kept coming! Also, I hated the part right after that where there's like 6 of those invisible ninja dudes. And then it gets worse! I'm stuck at the large room right after that with the 4 or so snipers. I'm low on health and ammo and don't have much left but the shotgun, which does not work from a distance.

I have yet to use the slo mo. I just keep forgetting about it. Maybe it would help me run across the room. I've so little health two sniper hits kill me.

If you can make it there's another sniper rifle near the tram. If I recall it's on the second forklift ahead and a little to the right, and there's cover in the vicinity if you can get there. Just be careful though, there's also explosive tanks on the forklifts.

Also, mastering slo-mo is key to making the harder parts easy. I'm impressed you've gotten so far without it! The "ninja dudes" (Replica Assassins) are cake with slow-mo and a shot gun. Those guys can't touch me Slo-mo also made the tram easy - I only died once when one of them lobbed a grenade and I didn't hear it land. I like to pop out from cover while engaging slo-mo, pick off a bad guy then all at once reload & disengage slo-mo while moving back to cover. This technique gives me time to see where other bad guys are positioned so that I can "pre-aim" before popping out again. Worked like a charm on the tram.

Arm your missile launcher and shock grenades (there should be a missile launcher lying around if you don't have one). Get to cover, time a shock grenade to explode near the mech, then unload missiles. You should be able to get 5 to 6 missiles shots off per shock grenade. It should be toast on the 2nd round of doing this.

best part about it for me so far would have to be the sniper rifle. when you put a bullet into the head of one of those soldier guys. makes me fill like i'm on

After you drop down you'll see the NPC soldiers kill the first mech. Kill the one in front of you and run like hell across the street into the other building. Climb the stairs and kill the rocket launcher dude that's on the 2nd level. There's a rocket launcher up there.

Ah. Ok I did manage to kill 2 snipers and run across to the other side where there's armor and health but there's no where to hide and at least 3 more snipers. I'll check that forklift.

I am dying a hell of a lot more recently. I must have died 10 times on the tram and 5 times on the lift right after with the 4 ninjas. The key to making it is getting to a save point. I must remember the slo mo!

Slo mo Sniping makes the tram section a breeze.. kinda like passing gass but more bloody..

Shotgun + Ninja = Xninja as soon as you see them slow mo and knack em..

I think I just get caught up in the action and forget about slo mo. I always remember about it when I collect one of those injection things but then I forget again.

How dare this game be relagated to the second page! Anyway, I beat it tonight. I only had to use slo-mo once and that was during the final end sequence to slow down those psychic soldiers. The ending was odd.

Anyway this was a helluva ride.
