Speaker Pins... How do they work? - Blu-ray Forum

They work just like as if you were connecting pure speaker wire to them. Follow the diagram on your receiver/speakers.

Unscrew the cap a bit, put the pin through the hole, retighten.

I was trying to think of the best way to describe it........ why couldn't I come up with this

If the connectors on the end of your cable look like this than you have banana plugs.

The pic you posted looks like banana plugs to me.

It's always been my understanding that the pins were meant primarily for this type of speaker wire connection.

The notches on the pin would seat securely in the spring clip.
