Watched the Batman '89 UHD and said "Wow" outloud many times. I've seen this film hundreds of times over the past 30 years, however it was like watching it for the first time. The audio changes didn't bother me at all which surprised me. The only issue is there's a long pause right after the Batwing releases the balloons. I'm going to have to exchange it.

Pardon me of this was already asked, but even though the Atmos/TrueHD track on the Batman 4K/remastered Blu features new sound effects, what about the lossy 5.1 mix? Surely that mix is the original (theatrical) mix.

99% of the public watched the 35mm with Stereo/Analog mix. Even the 70mm was a 4 channel mix. l c r and matching rear surrounds, but almost no one saw it in 70mm. I didn't.

It's a downmix of the Atmos track.

I was asking if the lossy 5.1 mix on the new Blu-ray is the same one on the previous Blu-ray/DVD releases which has the original sound effects.

That's what I meant when I said original theatrical mix.

Love the uhd but I had to exchange it, unfortunately. The opening song was crackling from the right front speaker and I had a couple of total freezes in chapters 32 and 33. I haven't tried the exchanged disc yet.

As Dr. West and others have pointed out, it's unfortunately a fold-down of the Atmos remix with the new sound effects.

Indeed the 4K does appear to not suffer the issue as the 1080p disc does. Why does this keep happening?

Yep, I don't see that teal hue on my screen AT ALL. His settings must be all outta wack, and blames the transfer for the messed-up image. But, if you try and call him out on it, he flips out and gets crazy defensive, too. Seems like an elitist little baby.

What's even sadder is his videos seem to actually dissuade people from wanting to but the movie... what, is his word the gospel, or something? Whatever, that is definitely the first and last comparison video I'll be watching of his. 😕👎
