More Dollar Tree pickups...

Unfortunately, no Blu-rays this time.

EDIT: I just checked my disc for The Ten because I just found out from someone that it is a dead disc. Well I just checked and I can confirm that it does not play. That is unfortunate. I picked it up because it actually sounded pretty interesting. Oh well, at least it was only a dollar wasted. lol Had I known there were issues with the discs though, I wouldn't have picked it up in the first place.

Sex Tape turned up in the last batch here in RI. I'm not sure if they had gotten more in this time around, but I haven't seen it since, unfortunately.

Sex Tape was in the April 2018 batch in Vermont.

I haven't seen it at DT since.

I tried mine last night, and I got it from a previous wave, so I was hoping it would be unscathed from this bad batch or whatever the hell is going on.

No such luck. The disc wasn't even recognized.

I should've known better than to open it after all the horror stories in this thread, but returning a $1 movie is more trouble than it's worth and I don't mind having a spare clear case.

What a pity that it doesn't work, because the packaging is actually really nice. It looks really slick with the aforementioned clear case and inner artwork.

Is there a way to get a replacement disc?

That's really weird. I've owned The Ten for years and there are no issues with my copy. In fact, I've watched it twice in the past month. I love that movie.

Mine isn't in a clear case as mentioned above. I probably bought it right around when it was released, so the one DT is carrying must be a reissue.

There does seem to an unfortunate trend this year of faulty discs and Quality Control lapses - if this become epidemic...

otoh: a certain percentage of 'crap' (faulty, etc) is a part of the DT experience

This wave definitely isn't over yet. Two DTs I visited just today were putting out fresh boxes of movies. Well, I say fresh, but no movies that haven't been listed here already. The Drowning, Skateland and Wish Upon were my pickups.

I was bored, so I went to a couple of out of the way Dollar Trees. I would never do this on any day other than a Sunday when traffic is quiet, and never without GPS.

I started with a close store that I was hoping would put out more movies. No luck, but they did add a couple of books that definitely weren't there before.

After that, I went to a couple of stores in another town. Pickings were slim (no Blus whatsoever), but here's my overall haul.

Books

The PotA art book was shrinkwrapped.

DVDs

Becoming Redwood is a good movie. I figured I may as well replace my used copy.

The others? Who knows. But I do love Mickey Rooney and like Tobey Maguire (Revenge of the Red Baron) and I like Giancarlo Esposito too (the movie named Stardust that De Niro isn't in).

Maybe that was when RI got it. I know it was last year. I'm pretty sure there were none this time around.

I always seem to find everything else other than the one or two titles I truly want. Every DT sale. It sucks. But part of me likes the thrill of not knowing what I could find when I go into a store.

Don't like derailing threads but jelly on the Planet of the Apes book. Nice find.

I did find The Nice Guys a while back and it's a nice read. It's pretty much like reading the screenplay and follows the film exactly
