We believe it does (add value) though some would debate that, I'm sure. There is little doubt, though, that they are much rarer than standard Amaray casing.

But what it really boils down to, IMO, is just what people like to collect. Some people collect baseball cards, model planes, or whatever -- we collect steel.

I guess you're right...
I will never watch my T2 so I don't really care.
I remember paying $50 + s/h for The Machinist (Japanese) on HD-DVD...

There is also 2 Iron Man Blu-ray SteelBooks. I can't tell what's different other than the cover design (which may or may not be the actual cover. The second one looks identical to the Canada version.

King Kong was released in blu-ray here in the States with both the regular AND extended cut on the disc, so I would think the studios might release it the same way over in Argentina.

I hope they put some great artwork on this one.

It may be true that some sell for $200+ now, but only time will tell if they hold their value like that. I also don't think that there are not as many collectors out there that would pay that much money for a SteelBook. Sure, there are collectors out there that will pay this on EBay or elsewhere because they have to have it in their collection, but I don't see them as the majority. If they were, the values would keep climbing upwards. The ones that consistently sell for lots of money though are usually the earlier sbs that seem to be in shorter supply than newer ones.

I also don't know how much sealed vs. unsealed matters in terms of value, but I know that the general consensus is that sealed usually equates to a higher value than not sealed. It's true that if it is sealed, it can be labeled as never watched or "new," but even if it is sealed, there is risk of damage that can be hard to detect because it is sealed. I can understand the desire to collect something and keep it sealed. I have just had some experiences with buying dvds where the disc is intact and secure inside the case, and it is either not playable or is damaged.

It's novelty I guess. Bleh I spend enough on blu-rays as it is, not spending more just to get a metal case.
