USA Where Is the 1933 King Kong?

Does anyone know if WB has any plans to release this classic on Blu-ray?

There's been talk that WB is remastering/restoring it. I hope they're not waiting until 2013 for the 80th anniversary to release it.

My parents bought me the 60th anniversary VHS that had the roaring device in it for my 4th B-day in 1993. I loved that VHS. I have the 2 disc DVD, my only complaint is that overture, what is that?

Yeap, since I was 3. I owned a bunch of old school monster films on VHS.

It was part of the original theatrical release of the movie. The point was to include as much of the original movie as possible for the sake of historical posterity. Usually the consumers that buy these types of classic movies are big movie history purists and feel that full preservation and presentation of the original material is a #1 priority.
