Wondering why anybody would order from DiabolikDVD when I see they not only do not allow cancellations of pre-orders, but do not even honor price drops if they occur after your order is placed!

Sorry for venting, but I see this store thrown around a lot on these forums and I really don't understand why. Higher prices than other stores, unable to cancel, and don't honor price drops before release. Doesn't seem worth it to me even if they pack things well.
Its not just packing things well, they do have really good customer service and they also usually ship a week or two early, as far as I'm concerned thats enough to earn my business. Just make sure thats where you want something ordered from before you hit checkout (but in some cases they actually will cancel an order for you if you sweet talk them a bit or let them know it was a mistake).

Probably. I had to order the Limited from the site direct when I bought it. Although, Amazon do get Synapse releases as well (just not the Limited last time around).

I think I only have 1 or 2 titles from them. I’ll be curious to see the cost.

Bay St Video in Toronto will more than likely get this in. They get pretty much everything. I’ll probably wait to pick it up in stores as opposed to ordering it online.

Hmm, interesting point about shipping early. I hadn't been aware of that. I had however seen a few people gripe over the last few years concerning certain releases that hit a delay in shipping with Diabolik (I think the original Synapse Suspiria release was one of those). I guess I'll have to see how things go with my order. Who knows, maybe they'll win me over for the extra money it cost me to go with them over one of my favorite stores (Bullmoose).

I'm glad this is getting a 4K, but I find the new cover absolutely hideous. I have no idea what they were thinking. Although that scene does occur exactly like that, it's not reflective of the mood found in the movie imo. I guess the slipcover is going to have that illustration though, which is a shame.

Does Diabolik usually sell out of their preorders? I don’t ever order from them so I don’t know. If they do not usually sell out, there is no reason to place an order with them so early.

I think it depends, I occasionally check their site for things and they do sell out of stuff, but I have no idea how many of these Synapse was making.

In any case, I have good news for anyone with buyer's remorse like me. I contacted Diabolik after seeing in the product page that cancellations will be given in store credit. Turns out they they do honor cancellations as it says, in store credit. Will probably just order something else that doesn't have as big of a price difference elsewhere now.

Huge difference the original is more of a colorful fairytale type horror and I really mean beautifully COLORFUL why the remake is dark and has more of a series tone. The remake does have its moments and completely a new Suspiria trilogy possibility.

Do I recommend the original or the remake hard to say but I always loved the original so I would go with both of them and not try to make any comparisons to each other much.

I remember the Pieces release from GrindHouse did but that was limited with a mini puzzle after the limited sold, they still sold it but no puzzle. Suspiria is not limited so it will only sell out once they reach their pressing run.

This is all well and good, but I can totally understand why he's frustrated. I'm in the same boat. I saw Diabolik DVD was far cheaper than Amazon and figured it was a good bet to be as cheap as anywhere else until I saw Bullmoose.

Personally, I think Bullmoose is a price mistake. I wouldn't be surprised to see those pre-orders cancelled, but at I have orders in at both places currently.

He's commented on it here and there in these forums so it's leading me to believe that he very likely encoded the UHD.

He did a DAMN good job on the UHD of Don't Look Now so I expect Suspiria to look nothing short of incredible.

Also pre-ordered at Bullmoose. Originally was going to wait for Amazon, but free shipping and no tax sealed the deal.

By the way, I'm really impressed that Bullmoose didn't charge for shipping. They offer free shipping at $30, and this was $29.97. Most sites would not consider that enough to hit the threshold, but they do!

I hadn't even considered that, mainly because I remember when it used to be free at $25 and I forgot it's $30 now. But yeah, just another reason I love Bullmoose. If you're out of state that means no tax and free shipping on most stuff, plus they don't charge till it ships and you can cancel anytime.

Also just noticed its now gone up in price on their website to $32. Glad I got an order in before that happened since Diabolik was nice enough to let me cancel.
