Went to a few DTs today and found a few movies...
Here’s pics from one store. I think they had just put them out. Ofc, I condensed all the BluRays together. LöL ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Copies keep showing up, but at least they sell when they do. Charlie Countryman is the one that lingers and lingers and lingers...

I visited my 3 closest DT's over the weekend and nothing yet.
But I did watch Bad Words from the last batch and thought it was one of the better DT picks. Jason Bateman being incredibly offensive, rude, and mean, but still really funny. |

Here’s the deal, I needed some new cases so I opened these and swapped out the paperwork and DVDs. they are ‘brand new’ except no cases.
I’ll sell these for $1 each and $1 for shipping (since the cases weigh the most) (I prefer you take at least two at one trade) Or I’ll do a straight up trade (at least two for two) I have lots of other titles and need a few more cases so ask for what you need and I’ll check if I have a double... This includes ALL past DT buys... What I have available at the moment: 99 Homes Battle of the Year Fading Gigolo Joan Rivers Kevin Hart Paper Towns |

Before the buying really starts, I thought I'd post my capsule reviews of all the movies I've seen that have been reported on blu-ray in this latest wave. Obviously, just one guy's opinion, you know the sites to go to if you want multiple opinions.
Based on Spootnek's list, those he has marked as "new" in this wave are in bold. I've watched these on blu-ray: Blood & Chocolate (2007) - Not a great movie, to be sure, but I got enough of the action I wanted to feel satisfied. A Late Quartet (2012) - Decent character drama about tensions in a classical quartet coming to a head. Wish there'd been some onscreen nekkidness from Imogene Poots, sigh. Robocop (2014) - Not as great as the original classic, of course, but I thought it was a surprisingly good remake, exploring a related but different set of philosophical questions from Verhoeven's version. Sweetwater (2013) - Not really a new title, I think it may be the first blu-ray I bought at Dollar Tree! A lot of people seem to think this film is god-awful, but I thought it was a pleasant Western with a heroine who is very easy on the eyes! Wish the baddie had a few more henchmen, for more battles in the last act. Apparently shot on grainy film, so don't expect crisp blu-worthy cinematography. [Edit: perhaps not film grain after all, see below] I've seen the following on DVD: Blue Jasmine (2013) - I enjoyed it, but I've never seen (!) A Street Named Desire, which this is a homage to, or rip-off of, depending on your point of view. The Bounty Hunter (2010) - Didn't like it, Gerard Butler's character doesn't change at all, he ends the movie with all the same faults that led Jennifer Aniston to dump the loser. But must not have hated it, because I'm considering whether to get it or not if I see the blu at DT. Enough Said (2013) - Decent middle-age rom-com, I even got a used copy at Goodwill for $1.50 when I missed it in a previous wave. Mistress America (2015) - Nice indie movie. My previous review: "I liked it, but not as much as Lola Versus, which didn't turn up in my local stores. As a Galaxie 500 fan, it was good to see Dean Wareham, though his character is fairly superfluous to the story." Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) - Sweet late-teen romance with the winning Kat Dennings and Michael Cera digging himself deeper into his typecasting hole. So good, I've already bought a mint blu for $1.50! Yuck on the bubble gum, though. The Samaritan (2012) - A good film about a con man trying to go straight, blackmailed into one last job, double and triple crosses... One plot element may squick some sensitive viewers, however (but turn on others, to be sure). Notes on some unseen movies: Tooth Fairy (2010) - My sister liked it, watched the DVD with a friend's grandkids. Upstream Color (2013) - Never seen it, but it has a reputation as a very polarizing film. I've seen people comment that it's the most brilliant film they've ever seen, and the worst film they've ever seen, pretentious, artsy trash. If I see the blu, I'll take the chance for a buck. But since none of the haters have shown up in this thread yet, just those talking about how much they want it, I thought I'd speak up. I don't want this to be another Josie situation, where some people get the misimpression this is universally beloved. Last edited by Blu Canute; 09-16-2019 at 12:18 AM. |

And from what I can see, you did a very good job. Especially for your first time. While I'm definitely not someone who reviews submissions, I am pretty experienced and from what I can see you didn't do anything wrong. You found the Master movie ID, which is great! And entered the '1's for Season / sequence / chronological order. Those are very often '1's (though not for sequels or tv series after the first), but can easily be overlooked. So congratulations there too. You added the Walmart ID & Target ID, which is info that's nice to have, but usually doesn't affect anything as long as the Amazon one is there (that usually overrides everything else). So unless one of those is a retail exclusive, then imho adding them is more time/trouble then it's worth. But that's only my personal advice. You left the Art and packaging section unset. While it's better to be on the safe side, then some of that info you probably know. For example, since it's a 2016 movie then my guess is that it would be safe to say that it never had a VHS retro slipcover. And assuming you have a New copy then you'll know whether it has Figure/props/replica/memorabilia included, Booklets, a Reversible cover or Inner print. But maybe you don't? Or don't have the DVD handy? Either way, while info like that is nice to have in the database here, then it's not essential, and you 100% made a strong, solid entry that wasn't here before. Now you can add it to your collection, and there's a definite chance that someone(s) else might too. ![]() |
