Not that I am aware of, I was wishful thinking as it seems like a movie that would be dollar tree bound.

But since none of the haters have shown up in this thread yet, just those talking about how much they want it, I thought I'd speak up. I don't want this to be another Josie situation, where some people get the misimpression this is universally beloved.
I didn't enjoy the movie, but I would never call it trash. I just might not get what Carruth was trying to say. I had UC and Tree of Life for a while before I watched. They are the kind of movies I need to be alone and be able to watch uninterrupted. I enjoyed ToL from what I remember, but just didn't get UC on first viewing and haven't felt the need to return to it. Doesn't mean someone else might love it though.

I can't believe the movie came out in 2013. Carruth has a very odd career. He must be wealthy some other way to put out so little work, or something. Wikipedia shows some things here and there, but I have no clue.

re: Don Verdean - Hess' last movie Masterminds has shown up on DVD at DT. I remember liking his last 2 a lot more than Gentleman Broncos. That seemed to derail his career for a while.

Been to three Dollar Trees this weekend. I wasn't able to find any at the first one (didn't even see any leftovers anywhere), though I did stumble upon the Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets novelization in the books, so I picked that up. Second store was a complete bust, just old stock.

The third store, however, surprisingly had some, if not all, of their new titles out (although they were just thrown into the Electronics section, so I had to reorganize them all haha). Here's what I ended up with:

*Red vs. Blue: Season 10 Blu-ray (also saw a DVD copy of it at my store, but just grabbed the Blu-ray version)
*Steven Seagal Four-Feature Film DVD Set (w/Against The Dark, Black Dawn, Into The Sun, and Submerged)
*The Real Ghostbusters Volume 3 DVD
*Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 4 Volume 1 DVD
*Batman vs. Robin DVD

Also saw but did not get (all DVD): Tom and Jerry: Back to Oz, Scooby-Doo: Legend of the Phantosaur, Scooby-Doo and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon, Kids TV Favorites: Scooby Doo's Creepiest Capers (only has 2 out of the 4 episodes that's on the main Creepiest Capers set), and Upstream Color (they had the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack, as previously reported, but they also had a DVD-only copy as well)

They also had two copies of the War for the Planet of the Apes novelization, as well as a ton of this Jurassic World novel: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the...780525580720#/ (I guess it's supposed to be a prequel to the film?)

EDIT: Also just noticed @Spootnek, I'm pretty sure the "Digimon: Digital Monsters - The Official First Season Volume 1" and "Digimon Volume 1" DVD listings are the same set, as other than the Digimon Fusion Season 1 Volume 1 set from the last round, the first season Digimon volume sets are the only ones I've seen pop up at Dollar Trees. (P.S. Thank you very much for cataloging all of our finds, I really appreciate it! )

Looks like no real regional exclusives. Haven't seen JTTCOE mentioned, which is the one I'm hoping to find. Of course we probably won't get it.

Here are reviews/comments on some of the movies that have been reported as DVD-only in this wave (so far). Note, though, that I rarely buy DVDs at these sales anymore. These days, I'm piling up DVDs faster than I'm watching them for even less than a dollar. So even if I praise a film, that doesn't mean I'm planning to get it.

Hollow Man (2000) -I've actually seen this on BD, but a Mill Creek double feature with its sequel. Solid thriller.
New York, I Love You (2009) - Has shown up on blu in the past, when I nabbed it. Earlier comment: "I haven't watched my new Blu yet, but I'd seen it on DVD. It's an anthology of stories with different directors, and it's uneven. You'll probably enjoy some of the segments, but whether you consider the movie overall to be worth it is going to vary from person to person."
Tiger House (2015) - Mediocre home invasion movie, not terrible but bringing nothing fresh to the table, and not as much badassery from Kaya Scodelario as I was hoping for.
Two Lovers (2008) - I found this boring, to be honest.
Vixen: The Movie (2017) - My library just added this recently, hope they didn't pay a lot! I enjoyed it, and if you tend to like DC animation, you'll probably like this too. (A notably lighter-skinned iteration of the character in the main movie than in the bonus features.)

Unseen but curious:

Night Of The Living Deb (2015) - I liked Maria Thayer in her part in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (as half of the inexperienced newlywed couple), so I'm interested to see her in a lead role.
Who We Are Now (2017) - Stars Julianne Nicholson, an actress I'm always happy to see, and Emma Roberts as well; loved by critics.

Maybe not, according to the review on this very site:

Quote:
The transfer's only significant flaw is recurrent video noise that ripples across the long shots, usually in the more complex imagery on the ground. This is not film grain, because it isn't evenly distributed around the frame; it's transfer-induced noise and, to the extent that de-noising software wasn't randomly applied, we can only be grateful. However, at this stage of Blu-ray's evolution, and especially with the software now available in the latest DI suites, it's unusual to encounter such noise, and one must assume that it's an unavoidable side effect of "pushing" the contrast (or perhaps specific colors) to achieve other effects considered desirable.

The Killing is a solid show -- especially the first season. If you've not seen it and get a chance to grab it for a buck, it's definitely worth it.

So, I was just opening my Dollar Tree movies from earlier, and interestingly enough, my copy of Batman vs. Robin on DVD came with an unadvertised digital copy code, and it redeemed on Vudu in HD! Just wanted to share that in case anyone finds that title at their local Dollar Trees within the next few weeks or so.

Went to a single store and got the next:

* Mistress America BD
* Upstream Color BD
* Yoga Hosers BD
* Red vs Blue Season 10 BD
* The Power of Few BD

I don't remember very well, but I saw that Lego Scooby-Doo DVD on there and also The Violent Kind BD, but they still had tons of Barney's Version BD on site.

I'll stop to another store through the week and hope to find at least some of those Warner BD titles!

I've now watched 4 of the 12 "films" on the Monster Movie Mix. None of the four had anything to do with monsters The majority of the collection seems to be shorts -- there's one film that's 80 minutes and three others that are around an hour in length. The other 8 are half an hour or less. Not surprising, though, given that it's all on a single disc.
  • Man With A Watch -- This is an episode of a 1951 show called "Lights Out." It's overall entertaining -- particularly given that the "villain" of the film clearly forgets his lines during one scene and begins repeating himself and clearly saying the wrong thing.
  • Flash Gordon: Planet of Death -- This is another short episode from the 50's Flash Gordon show. Video quality is quite bad, but the story is entertaining in a campy 50's sci-fi way.
  • Rocky Jones: Escape Into Space -- Another half hour episode from a 1954 show called Rocky Jones: Space Ranger. Video quality is quite good overall and episode was reasonably entertaining for what it was.
  • Let It Rain -- Another half hour show -- this from General Electric Theater starring Ronald Reagan and a young Cloris Leachman. It has nothing to do with monsters, and unlike the other three isn't even sci-fi. But, what it does have is an extended commercial for GE televisions in the middle that I found very entertaining (it showed how they've evolved their models since the late 20's).

Seems like nearly everyone has found Upstream Color. That's a great sign as that's far and away the most interesting thing I've ever seen reported at a DT and I have to get my hands on it.
