Any chance of acquiring/releasing "Underground Aces"? It's an early Melanie Griffith picture, essentially Caddyshack for car valets. It was originally a Filmways picture. Also starred Dirk Benedict (A-Team) and Michael Winslow (Police Academy movies).

The studio restored the cut they owned in 4K. We did not need to include the longer cut and/or could've just included it as an SD extra. Our 2K master of Terminal Station is from the best surviving film elements in Italy and a 4K scan was not warranted and would've been a waste of money. The research, repair/cleaning, sound digitization and 2K scan was done in Italy by L'Immagine Ritrovata and color grading and additional cleanup in the U.S. We went out of our way for a title which will most likely be a so-so seller. We said we would be interested in doing another deal with Universal. There's no second deal.

Want to thank you Kino and MGM for coming together and finally bringing us animation fans the ENTIRE United Artists cartoon library on home video!
That in mind, there is still SO MUCH more for the Kino Lorber Animation label you can do. Like for instance, there's still the matter of the 3 Pink Panther TV specials A Pink Christmas, The Olym-Pinks, and Pink At First Sight (4 if you count the recent A Very Pink Christmas). You can put those out in a DVD together perhaps even include the various openings, interstitials, and closings to every Pink Panther Show from the 60's-80's. And not just that, but because you have deals with Paramount AND Universal, you could bring out the ENTIRE non-Popeye, non-Superman Famous Studios library! Paramount owns the pre-50 and post-62 cartoons and theatrical rights and negatives to the post-50-pre-62/HarveyToons library, Universal owns everything else to said HarveyToons library, and the 3 of you combined can release the entire filmography which is in dire need of restoration and release! Also, the Rankin/Bass movies owns by StudioCanal and there are a LOT more possibilities! So I suggest as an animation fan and collector you really look into this. Thanks! |
