Also Munster, Go Home! coming 31st March:

A while back someone on another forum suggested this was coming, and when Kino didn't have it you figured it had to be Scream. I think it's a pretty awful production but I do hope it means more 70s Universal TV horror movies might be on the way. I thought it interesting that they recently cited Dark Secret of Harvest Home (a Universal property) for Joanna Miles in the blurb for Bug.

So much for my theory that Scream might be looking to lighten their release schedule in 2020. And so much for these sets going in chronological order from now on... Out 17th March:

How many more sets after this I wonder? As far as I can tell the following candidates are left (though I don't expect Scream to release them all, and the 50s sci-fi titles at least would almost certainly get singles releases):

Murder by the Clock
Secret of the Blue Room
The Mystery of Edwin Drood
The Missing Guest
The Cat and the Canary
The Monster and the Girl
The Mystery of Marie Roget
Flesh and Fantasy
The Inner Sanctum Mysteries
(6 films)
Captive Wild Woman
Jungle Woman
Jungle Captive
The Cat Creeps
The Spider Woman Strikes Back
The Black Castle

Curucu, Beast of the Amazon
Curse of the Undead
The Thing That Couldn't Die
Cult of the Cobra
The Incredible Shrinking Man

The Kino Insider previously said that the Inner Sanctum films were with another label, so I would expect a single set dedicated to them. Outside of that, maybe we'll get 2 more sets? Providing Kino don't have it, I could see Cat and the Canary getting an individual release.

Puzzling, either their chronological order comment was BS or the ape women movies are getting their own set. Or not coming at all.

Score! I can move that TCM set now since HOUSE OF HORRORS was the hold out.

That just leaves CAPTIVE WILD WOMAN for the Universal set. Still chiseling away on the Karloff.

BarnDoor----since the sets are going chronologically now, wouldn't that shorten the list a little bit and eliminate the precodes at least?

A retro TV series would be breaking new ground for Scream, but it's always an intriguing thought. I think The Munsters might be more Kino's bag (there would be quite a few episodes to tackle), but the Kino Insider did say that Kolchak was unavailable to them, so I wonder if Scream might have acquired that? Darkroom would be another interesting choice, not too big of an undertaking either.

That was my point though, they're not (Night Key is 1937, which predates everything in volume three). I'm not sure why that was said in the podcast, maybe they forgot they still had a few 30s films? At least there's hope now for the earlier films.

I was thinking that I'd get off easy for the Scream Factory March announcements, but then they go and announce the fourth Universal box set. Oh man...

I'm there, of course.

This still can be chronological if their comments were referring to what was left (of what Scream has) after vol 3 which means we can narrow the list down significantly. I'm guessing one more + Inner Sanctum.

I see Paramount is on the VHS box art for this.

Does anyone know where the rights still stand for Gator Bait and the sequel please?

[Show spoiler]
Rights to Gator Bait are with the Sebastian family last time I checked, the same couple who produced Rocktober Blood which probably means their scumbag son inherited the films.

There's a point. That said, we probably shouldn't rule out the Captive Wild Woman trilogy yet as they may wish to do those together (if they have them). So with the Inner Sanctum films removed we'd be looking at these potentially:

Captive Wild Woman
Jungle Woman
Jungle Captive
The Cat Creeps
The Spider Woman Strikes Back
The Black Castle

Curucu, Beast of the Amazon
Curse of the Undead
The Thing That Couldn't Die
Cult of the Cobra
The Incredible Shrinking Man

I think Cult of the Cobra and Shrinking Man are likely to get singles releases, as with the other sci-fi titles. Which means you could feasibly do one more 40s set (there are 5 titles there - maybe The Cat Creeps could miss out, since the rest follow a particular female-led theme) and a 50s set (The Black Castle, Curucu, Curse of the Undead and The Thing That Couldn't Die).

Even though I would love to see some titles like THE SPIDER WOMAN STRIKES BACK, Universal are not known for introducing new catalog titles to home video. I would expect the usual suspects, and thus far my fears have been confirmed. They did at least introduce MARIE ROGET and MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM for the vault series. I guess never say never. The complete Wild Woman series was released to VHS and two of the 3 made it to DVD....so I'd guess they would be candidates.

I would be shocked if the INNER SANCTUM series isn't released by Scream....question is how? (set or singles).

Definitely set. I can't imagine anybody trying to release any of those films, each of which are only about an hour long, as singles.

Yes, Shrinking Man is definitely a candidate for a single release, but I'm not sure about Cult of the Cobra. I can see the latter getting packaged with a set that includes The Black Castle, Curse of the Undead and The Thing That Couldn't Die. I always thought Cult of the Cobra was an odd selection for Universal's science fiction DVD sets, as it was more supernatural.

The critical issue, above all in my opinion, is the potential release on Blu-ray of The Thing That Couldn't Die. It's an underrated gem that deserves some decent treatment. It's definitely one of the top tier disembodied head movies.

Oh god, doing singles on Inner Sanctum movies would be a catastrophe. I'm more nervous that they do two sets of three, or three double features. One modestly priced set for all 6 is really the way to go with these things.

I've always assumed Criterion swooped in a long time ago and got The Incredible Shrinking Man. Otherwise, it would seem like Scream or Kino would have released it by now if they had it. With Criterion, it's probably years away considering how they acquire and then sit on titles for years.

A new 4K scan premiered fairly recently, so it may be that whoever has it was waiting on that.

The Monster and the Girl could also be a contender. Though a Paramount title, it's owned by Universal and was released on VHS in their Universal Monsters Classic Collection line. And Murders in the Zoo shows that Scream! Factory doesn't mind mixing in the Paramount stuff. Plus, we mustn't forget The Unseen and Flesh and Fantasy, though I'd think those would get standalone releases.

Going by the assumption Shout's comment is true that the remaining titles post vol 3 will be released in chronological order, Monster and the Girl is not in their plans. At least not in the sets.
