Default Easiest Way to Transfer Music to New Comp w/o Re-Ripping Every CD?

Recently my computer with iTunes crashed for the last time. Is there a way to transfer my music from MY iPod to MY new computer without re-ripping every CD I own?

If you own a Mac, Senuti is an app that allows you to pull tracks off your iPod. I believe it used to be freeware; now I think it's shareware with a 30-day free trial.

My bad. I should have noted that my name is Matt and I'm a PC.

(I hate those commercials)

I don't think there's an official way to do it. There are programs you can buy/try that allow you to do it. They essentially hack your iPod.

You can certainly transfer all the songs you purchased to your computer, though. Just hook up your iPod, go to File --> Transfer Purchases.

Are any of those programs freeware?

I'd rather not have to re-rip 100 CDs.

Not that I've seen. You can google this and get some answers, though.

I'm with you man. I wish the iPod was like a removeable drive (like my old, crappy Dell Jukebox was) where you could copy and paste files to and from the unit. Sadly, it's not. One of the few drawbacks to owning an iPod.

Do a search on Music Rescue. I lost my hard drive also and was able to restore everything from my iPod into iTunes with this software. It's free if I remember correctly.

Theres a way to put your iPod on "share files" or something like that. Problem is. Theres a jillion files. each named something like xsdt, rjcb, etc. random letters. And each file only has 3 or 4 songs in it. But if you wanted all the music this wouldnt be too much of a drawback for you. It's not a hack or anything, I googled it a year or so back. When you plug it in you have to go to my computer, then right click the drive its in... I would just google it again. It wasnt hard at all
