Watched Mom and Dad last night, from the first Forbidden Fruit release. Alright movie, though the last 1/3 being shots of infected genitals made my stomach turn. Kind of crazy to see a 1945 film like that.
My grandfather apparently saw it in the 40s and it haunted him. |

I know this thread is about Kino Lorber, but I have to say this about Robert Aldrich. One classic movie of his that I really like that I would love to see get a 4K restoration (whether it's on standard Blu-ray or 4K UHD Blu-ray) is his 1967 WWII epic THE DIRTY DOZEN, starring Lee Marvin. Fantastic movie!

Watched CAPER OF THE GOLDEN BULLS, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Frothy, scenic, tense caper sequence, attractive women, random bit parts with actors I've seen in '60s tv shows, great score (Vic Mizzy), entertaining glossy fun. No classic but wasn't expecting that. Weird seeing Stephen Boyd in this after just watching his role in THE OSCAR.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood (1935) would be cool. While it’s not a horror film, I think it fits nicely with Universal’s horror canon (much like The Strange Door).

You can probably take Breach off your list, since Universal just announced it will be coming from their own MOD line. I can't see why it would suddenly get two dueling releases (even if one of them ending up being a 4K release; which seems highly unlikely for a "smaller" film like this one).

Coming June 2nd!
Let's Kill Uncle (1966) • Brand New 2K Master • NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historians Kat Ellinger and Mike McPadden • Mr. Castle and Me: NEW Interview with Actor Pat Cardi • Optional English Subtitles • Dual-Layered BD50 Disc • Theatrical Trailer 1 • Theatrical Trailer 2 Color 92 Minutes 1.85:1 Not Rated From cult filmmaker/producer William Castle, the director of House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler, 13 Ghosts, Homicidal, Strait-Jacket and The Night Walker comes this wonderful horror comedy starring Nigel Green (The Ipcress File). A 12-year-old orphan (Pat Cardi, Horror High) who has just inherited a fortune is trapped on an island with his uncle, a former British intelligence commander who intends to kill him. A young girl (Mary Badham, Scout Finch of To Kill a Mockingbird) is the boy's only ally against his sarcastic and sadistic uncle, who uses hypnotism, a pool of sharks, fire, and poisonous mushrooms as weapons. Beautifully shot by Harold Lipstein (Never Steal Anything Small). 91216658_2928253577231530_3829792294546964480_o.jpg Last edited by Kino Lorber Insider; 04-01-2020 at 04:20 PM. |

Hey KL Insider,
I saw an announcement elsewhere about "The Choirboys" (1977) coming from KLSC. Sorry, if I missed it here, but I don't see it. Is that true? I am really excited for that one! |

Great news about LET'S KILL UNCLE. More William Castle is a good thing.
I wish that Mary Badham was somehow involved with the supplements. She recently returned to show business with a supporting role in a made for cable thriller, possibly on The Lifetime Channel. Of course, I do realized that LET'S KILL UNCLE ain't TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. |
