It’s worth watching on VHS, one of the best movies ever. Do yourself a favor and watch the outstanding Blu Ray version. No sense waiting, as it demands multiple viewings anyway.

The majority of the titles in the set are ones I enjoy. However, I think I may wait for the individual release of LoA. Not a price issue, just something I’d prefer owning in it’s own packaging.

Would prefer individuals for all of them so I can pick and choose what I want, but I dunno. The way things are at the moment, who knows if/when we'll get individual releases, so this may be the only way to get these titles for a while. Decisions, decisions...

I’m loving that it’s called “Volume 1,” because I’d like to see them do more of these. However, that box looks super bulky. Why oh why can’t this be a nice, compact, shelf-friendly collection?

I wish they had packed each title individually in their own case with slip, so you could arrange them on the shelf without the bulk.

I just want Lawrence ! Where is The Guns of Navarone, On the Waterfront and From Here to Eternity ???? Those last 3 newer films don't Belong there. I would take Jason and the Argonauts over all 3 of those any day !

Not really a fan of the packaging and do not want all of them. Hopefully we get individuals.

Just interested in Lawrence Of Arabia and Dr Strangelove from that set. Points to likely solo releases though.

I've been in contact with the Australian distributor about this title, and all of the others in the set... I should know later today whether they are planning to release them here on 4K.

The box set is nice, but I really doubt I have any need to re-buy Mr. Smith or Dr. Strangelove. Even for Lawrence, I'd be happy with a plain case release so I can drop it in my big laserdisc-sized gift set of the Blu.

By the way, I've had a bit of a collection going for LoA. I had owned the very first "fabric case" DVD and the Superbit DVD, then replaced that with the Blu-ray gift set. Since then, I managed to find both the CAV and CLV Criterion laserdiscs, as well as the rare 1983 laserdisc of the pan & scan shortest cut version.

The P&S laserdisc is an absolute travesty.

(laserdisc overlaid the Blu-ray)

Filmarena has the availability as "release date comes in 62 days". Early June. Anyone know how reliable they are with release dates? Hope it's true.

If you are talking about the Columbia Classics Collection, Amazon had a release date of June 16th 2020 when the link was active.
