To soon to get excited, look forward to hearing more about this. Have liked Abrams since LOST, still consider it my favorite show. Even if it did end one season to short. Abrams did good with Star Trek and Star Wars. West World is one of the better shows out today.

Lets not forget for the underrated Sci-Fi series Fringe on Fox when the network easily canceled new Sci-Fi series or got them from WB to purposely kill the shows. Such good times when Fox had some of the highest hit shows especially Sci-Fi.

It's just isn't properly linked. https://comicbook.com/horror/2020/04...ining-spinoff/

I'm curious if this series would be happening if Dr. Sleep had been a big box office hit along the lines of the IT films especially the first IT?

any idea how far out this would even be available?

am only getting HBO Max for this and no point in pre-ordering for the reduced cost if this show is gonna be 2 years out

If Dr Sleep had done well,I read they were thinking of doing more films set in the Shining universe.I thought I read something that they were already developing a Shining prequel film centered around a young Dick Hallorann.

It makes me wonder if this Overlook series would be happening if Dr.Sleep hadn't failed at the box office.Would we be getting more films instead.

I'm glad their is going to be this series though since the universe has rich possibilities but I'm always curious about Hollywood what ifs/aborted projects and how things doing well or not impacts where certain properties go.

gotcha, that makes sense in regards to other movies being made rather than a show.

any idea when this show could possibly drop? didnt see any mention of it or just way too early to even throw out a date.

I don't think it's going to drop right away.HBO Max just released their second wave of original projects after the initial launch at the end of the month.

Bascially what's coming starting in late June.

I don't think we'll see Overlook until sometime mid to late next year at the earliest since it hasn't begun production or cast roles yet.
