I would warn everyone to be very wary of releases by Blue Underground. I purchased The Stendhal Syndrome, and that BD disc should have never seen the light of day. A total waste of money due to a very problematic issue with video noise (not grain) in the entire movie, worst Blu-ray transfer todate. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/movie...ow=userreviews

The movie has it's moments. I'm not too happy with the cat torture thing in Argento's movie (fake or not...), but as I said; it has it's moments.

Very true. This movie was filmed in Pittsburgh (where I used to live) so it will always hold a special place in my heart. As for a horror anthology film, it succeeds because it splits between two short films as opposed to two or three.

Also, the scene where
[Show spoiler]Harvey Keitel cut's his wifes hand
is one of the most cringe worthy moments in a horror film.

I bought the limited edition dvd back when it was first released, and never got around to watching it, and ended up selling it off a few months ago. I'll probably pick this up and finally watch it.

Blue Underground is the Criterion of old, low budget horror movies like these.

Here's another review: http://hometheatermag.com/moviereviews/031509eyes/

It received PQ: 4/5 and AQ: 2.5/5

I ordered it from Amazon so hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.

Just got through watching it and it looks good for a low-budget horror flick. The bitrate was one of the highest I've seen. It stays around 37+ the whole time. Where's the guy that was always posting the bitrate averages. I'd be interested in seeing what the average for the movie is. Also, they include a DTS HD MA audio track as well as a TrueHD one. The sound is just so-so though.

I just watched this with my wife and we both thought the first story with George Romero, was really creepy.

The second story was unwatchable. Animal cruelty is disgusting. Turned it off half way through. I may not like cats, but wanting to watch someone torture one (even in a movie), crosses the line.

Make sure to avoid Cannibal Holocaust then. Real animal cruelty and really upsetting.

Oh, so it's ok to watch people get beaten, tortured and murdered, but not animals?
