I saw it on a store today...along with No Country for old men (Special edition)

I almost picked it up...but they said they only had one copy..and it had a dent in the edge

Video is average for Blu-ray -- great colors, grainy at times
Audio is awesome -- music sounds great and shakes the walls!

the audio is pretty adequate, but I thought the video was atrocious.
although I didn't see this in theaters so that might just be the way it was shot.
very grainy and disappointing.

Now I don't always agree with the Academy but if it won all those Oscars, my guess is it was meant to look grainy.

I wrok at a cinema in Australia that is still showing this and yes Slumdog Millionare was shot with very grainy stock. I am guessing they did this to help show the poverty in the movie.

Will probably snag it at some point but as I know very little about it and none of my favourite actors are in it, it's not exactly a high priority blind buy.

And this is just my opinion, but like I said I thought the video looked atrocious. And it's so much more than just the grain, there were scenes where it looked
straight out of some bad cable reception. But I will say it again ... I think
that's just how the film was shot.

Thanks Ben.

I pretty much saw the PQ the same though I didn't watch the whole movie but scanned it more for curiousity sake initially the other day since this has some rather hard material to deal with. I always try to remain cautiously optimistic and I had no problem with it and in fact it made me even more stoked to watch it again after my theater experience. It is good to know my initial impression wasn't way off base.

I will buy this first chance I get today and will watch it in entirety tonight. Boy I hope today doesn't go slow at work!

One word of advise for anyone who has not seen the film....skip the beginning of the review and focus on the review of the video and audio. There are some spoilers (arguably) that I think are better left for viewing the film the first time.

Are you surprised? I don't know how Slumdog Millionaire could get a good review on Bluray knowing how horrendous those slums look in India...real eye candy. Some of these same Bluray reviewers gave 300 a Great review the First time around...are you kidding me!

I'm thankful to get as many opinions as possible. To that end, another review:

I think folks are able to get the picture so to speak with this BD.

Yeah, I can appreciate that you want to get as many views as possible, but this site only stays afloat thanks to denizens going to Amazon and purchasing BDs of interest. So please don't post links sending people away unless you really have a point to make. Thanks.

I understand.

Do you have an opportunity to check out this BD? I would like your opinion on the quality. Much obliged.
