I had actually heard that Spielberg has the clout with the studio to keep his film from being bundled with the sequels. I'm not sure that's true, but I do notice that Jaws 2-4 always get put together in sets and the original is never included.

On behalf of Simpsons fans, we agree and we never asked for it or anything else the franchise has done in the last 20 years

These covers are horrible AF. The steel books are so bad. It's like they hired the people doing disney covers.

The Simpsons ride has aged poorly. The franchise itself is no longer beloved since it won’t ever end. BTTF remains timeless because they knew when to quit. And what happened to Bart? He used to be the coolest kid in television history. Now he’s just a dweeb and Nancy Cartwright is getting way too old to voice him. They all are. Listen to this (there’s a BTTF reference so relevant!):

Went on that ride multiple times one time on a quiet day in September 20+ years ago, there were no queues for that or the T2 ride

Gonna save up and buy this at walmart or target or Best Buy soon.

One of my most anticipated UHD 4Ks with UK's Dawn of the Dead (1978) Limited Edition, Goonies, and Beetlejuice.

Are 4k disc player lenses fussier with minor surface damage than Blu Ray discs?
I have read multiple times that 4K discs have weaker protective coating compared to normal Blu-rays. Or, to be more accurate, scratches that won't affect a Blu-ray disc playback at all, can affect 4K disc playback and make it more prone to skipping or freezing.

Holy cow! I haven't watched new episodes of the Simpsons for 20-25 years. I had no idea Bart's voice and character changed so much. Personally, the series died when they made Homer the main character instead of Bart. That clip wasn't even that funny. It's just a satire of the same ole' Marvel tropes that all of us already do on our own time with our friends.

Wow. I had no idea how bad it's gotten. Thanks for posting this.

EDIT: Also, why is Homer dragging the kids from the theater kicking and screaming as if he were the voice of reason? Isn't he supposed to be the dummy of the family? If anything, it should be Lisa, the smart one, who wants to leave, but Homer is attracted to the bright and shiny objects on screen. ... The writers really need to be more consistent with their characterizations. It seems all mixed up from one scene to the next.

I bought all the Star Wars UHD’s separately, but avoided the Skywalker set for fear of damage.

Is the coating on a UHD not as good or is it the laser?

Back on topic: Fingers crossed the UHD set will get an Aussie release. I love the films, but importing is frequently frustrating (and sometimes near impossible to source), in COVID-19 times.
There is no way this won't be released in as many countries as possible, its an anniversary release of a very popular franchise and Universal know it will sell tons.

Same, I'm not really into the BB steelbooks. But if that's the only way to get the trilogy in Canada maybe i'll go for those.
Nice you are from Kingston!!

For those wanting to get the Amazon 4K edition that contains the levitating hoverboard (currently sold out), there is another way of getting that hoverboard.

Target has:

1) the 35th anniversary edition in regular 4K (without hoverboard) for $42.99

and

2) the 35th anniversary regular blu-ray edition WITH hoverboard for $42.99.

If you sign up for the Target Circle membership - which is free and earns you 1% back (NOT A CREDIT CARD!) - you get access to a "Buy one, get one %50 off" coupon.

So adding both those editions to your cart and applying the %50 coupon, you get both sets for $69.80 + tax. Cheaper than the 4K w/ hoverboard set on Amazon.com

4K 35th special edition: https://www.target.com/p/back-to-the...d/-/A-80885950

Target Circle: https://circle.target.com/

Can't take full credit for this; found this on SlickDeals.

Dang, these this sold out a whole lot faster than I anticipated. I had pre-ordered the Amazon exlusive, but then cancelled after I realized that the hoverboard "replica" (it looks nothing like the actual prop, excepting the color) was not worth the extra. So, I am just waiting for Bullmoose to put the standard release up for pre-order. In any case, to the person who got the one I cancelled, you're welcome...

As for the packaging, I am only concerned that I get the discs out once scratch-free. They will then go into standard cases with custom coverart, anyway. I am the other person on the planet that did not have any problem with the 25th anniversary packaging, but then I just removed the discs once.

Now, The Lord of the Rings UHD or bust...

I guess I really should've jumped on the BB pre-order before it was taken down. If all else fails I'll just have to get to the store at open.

Any chance Amazon might up their inventory based on demand/how fast this sold out?

I got my order in, but my brother-in-law missed out.
