With a new simple but classy cover design, perhaps just featuring the car and burning tyre tracks? I'd much prefer that to any packaging options I've seen to date, thank you!

How about a front cover of a passionate embrace between Marty and Lorraine McFly?

I'll take anything over a shitty foldout digipack, that gets damaged just by looking at it.

As Mike said, the 'Time Circuits' set practically screams HMV or Zavvi exclusive, but I'm verr interest to see what this apparently unique UK set will look like.

A slipcase box with individual movie cases featuring original theatrical poster covers.
Doesn't seem difficult, but no one is doing it.

If Amazon.co.uk got that LE, I would pre-order it to any UK or European address you may have and if it goes out of stock but international shipping is opened again, you can just change address to your normal US one from the order.

I've done this numerous times and it has always worked.

I just really hope that Amazon UK gets this and it isn't exclusive to Zavvi or HMV because I'd rather pay extra to get this directly from Amazon with prepaid customs and DHL/UPS shipping instead of going through the stupid freight forwarder service.

So, it's probably been discussed, but what I really want to know is whether the previous BD set aka DNR edition was because of Universal's way of doing things back then, or because of the filmmakers of the BTTF trilogy, such as Bob Gale?

And, do we have any word of which route they are taking this time around?
Universal's new ways are largely fantastic, and I'd be overjoyed to have it done this way. Any word?

I would say it was just Universal following the trend at the time, the new transfer has been seen in the wild and it looks mighty fine so I am cautiously optimistic the films have finally been giving the TLC they deserve.

I went to see it in the theatre yesterday. It was cool to see it on the big screen again, but it looks better on my OLED.

The 2010 Blu-Ray looks better on your OLED or the new version on Prime/Netflix?

I think the point of contention there is that Bob Gale said a lot of positive things about the Blu-Ray transfer back when it came out "it looks better than ever" or something to that effect.

I think it might just be an outdated way of what makes a good transfer that was still in people's minds 10 years back-- during the DVD era, it was all about looking as clean and slick as possible, and that carried over to the HD era initially. It took people a while to equate HD with being more transparent to a film's original look, and was more about the "window-effect." I think even directors like Bob Gale looked at that way. Luckily, all signs seem to be pointing to BttF looking nice and filmic for UHD.

I like the French set, but For Back to the Future I'd prefer the box art to be in English, I'll wait to see if there is a UK set, if not keep the Best Buy steelbook preorder.

A little more info on the UK release - there will be two Collector's Editions with 2 different retailers. What that looks like, I have no idea, but yeah, we are getting two Collector's Editions. Universal UK showing us some love.
