The cinematography choices were baffling to me. I would assume Scream 5 will go back to the look of the first three so now the fourth will stand out as the true oddity.

They tried reviving the series with a sequel with the original cast(Scream4) and a tv series as well. Both of them were just disappointment. If they make 5th movie, script must be very very good.

Yikes, some of the rumors from months ago sounds like they might be true. Now I'm slightly worried.

A huge possible spoiler. Click at your own risk:

[Show spoiler]Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton) rushes home (there have been videos of her speeding around town) because Ghostface sends her video of her teenage son (Dylan Minnette) in the shower. Very similar to the Scream 3 opening.

Rumors are Dylan is done filming now and has left. So he most likely filmed his death. Rumors from months ago also had Judy rushing home and getting her throat sliced by Ghostface, who then kills her son Wes.

There's also rumors that the new lead Sam (Melissa Barrera) is secretly Billy Loomis' daughter.

Wouldn't that be better for the box office? Who's in charge of these decisions???

The first 2 were released in December
The third the start of February
The fourth the middle of April.

Horror movies can be released any other time of the year. Not like people only watch horror movies in October.

I mean sure some people do. Like saying releasing rom coms in feb only cause of Valentine's day.

So you want it to compete against Halloween Ends in 2022?

Like i stated multiple times, December 2021 is the 25th anniversary of the first movie. Rumors are that will play a factor in this new movie, so releasing it a month later in January 2022 makes absolute sense.

While everyone is having a circle jerk over Timothy Olyphant I think we need to appreciate that the Scream franchise launched his career and none of his subsequent line readings have been this gloriously over the top:
