Believe me, it was there. This is what they said in their comment:

"The BD master is struck for the same 4K as the UHD release".

Where? I did a search on this thread and none of their announcements related to this release mention this, and none of the posts have been edited (as if they were deleting this info from the posts). Maybe you're conflating this with a different release?

I saw the comment myself, they said the Mad Max Blu-ray was going to have the 4K master too.

Apparently now that someone has the UHD in their possession and since I notified them through e-mail, they deleted the Facebook comment.

Witnesses? Well... A witness from the looks of it.

So perhaps the person from Kino who posted that comment from the beginning made a simple human error. I would think that if it was something they were promising, there would be more to go on than one reply buried in a Facebook post.

I also remember Kino saying that the Blu-ray would be the new 4K remaster. I personally don't care that much, as I'm pretty content with the existing Blu-ray, but I do remember them mentioning it. Not sure what happened.

A cinephile friend of mine who has rarely steered me wrong with blind buys (um, well, let's just forget about KHARTOUM for the moment) swears this film is a "masterpiece." So I'm really looking forward to picking it up and finally seeing it for myself. But what does another film dude friend of mine, Aclea, think of it?

Finally got around to watching my discs of THE BOUNTY and ICEMAN from the October sale and they were just damn gorgeous - such a pleasure to own both of these underrated '84 releases in all their anamorphic widescreen goodness (the fact that Universal only afforded ICEMAN a full-frame DVD release is nothing short of a crime). Already anticipating that December sale - fingers crossed it'll include MALICE, F/X, THE CHANT OF JIMMIE BLACKSMITH and a few others I've been eyeing - with bated breath.

...also can't wait for the final specs on THE HOT SPOT, which I figure must be imminent...
