What advantages does the ED A2-300 have over the PA 120 or AA Sub 12? Also I guess I should have added in my original post that I do not listen to overly loud levels and am interested in as clean and accurate a bass response as I can get for dollar. I really do not like boomy bass.

Thanks for the responses.

Louder, cleaner, deeper bass. Read the first two posts of the A2-300 thread here. Look at those charts in the second post as well.

First off welcome to the site.

With your budget, I think as some have said the eD A2-300($350) is prolly the top of the hill sub, and the sub to get. I would think that it will have enought to fill your room well. Just keep in mind, that it is sorta large, but well worth it. It seems you have a decent size room so its size shouldn't matter too much for you.

Other the other had, you could get 2 Acoustic Audio 10" subs for $158 each shipped. These are not boomy subs and Big Daddy (Moderator) measured it with his SPL Meter and they do get down to 20hz.

Those would be the 2 things I would consider. Good luck.

I'd agree with deeper, anyway.

Keep in mind that the A2-300 is getting ready to go up in price so either get it now or up your budget if you want one. Personally, at where they're going to be pricing it I'd look at Hsu and SVS a lot harder. I realize they have to make their profits, but I can't help but think it might be a bad move for them to increase their prices. At least they've let everyone know they'll be doing so.

For under $300 I have to say the PA-120 or the BIC VK12 (I think that's the model #).

SVS' lower priced subs do not match or beat the performance of the A2-300. I would say maybe look at an HSU, Outlaw, or Dayton subwoofer if an eD isn't an option. SVS does not offer the same performance to price ratio that eD does. I think two 12" AA subs or two 15" AA subs would help take care of such a large room.
