i don't think there is a fix it's definitely a flaw. maybe they fixed it with the Limited Collector's Edition? won't know till(IF) i get it

I just emailed universal and asked if there is a replacement program since many discs seem to have the same problem.

I think it would be helpful for the people experiencing these freezes to also say what player they're using. That could be a common factor. Since the freezes seem to occur in the same scene for so many people, it must be something more than a scratched disc issue.

EDIT: Panasonic UB820 here with no freezes for Part I. Haven't watched the other two yet. Steelbook set.

That's a good point. I've watched each movie now twice and never had any issues with the 4K discs. I'm using an Oppo UDP 203 (I think that is the numbrer).

why are listings of the Limited Collector's Edition on ebay saying it's sold out when it's not out till dec 7 or available for pre-order (says coming soon) on amazon UK?

I'm using a Sony X700, 2.0 cables, and the only part in all 3 films that froze for me was the dinner scene in Part I. And there was NOTHING I could do to get it to play correctly.

Maybe those who have contacted Universal could give all of us the contact info they're using so we can all reach out to them. If they get enough complaints about the same issue, maybe they'd be more likely to issue a replacement.

I have the Sony X700 and i haven't had any freezing issues on any of the films. Sounds to me like some bad discs were made for this release. I also have the steelbook set from Best Buy if that makes any difference.

Pre-orders went live months ago and sold out quickly.

My BTTF 1 & 2 US discs did not freeze. Oppo 203. Haven't gotten around to 3 yet.

I hope so, but I’ve also noticed a trend this year with the non-U.S. Amazons where they actually don’t ship preordered items out to those of us in America until around a week after street date (almost as though they’re hoping we will cancel out of impatience and they can then be spared the trouble of exporting), so be prepared to hold out.

Yes, I've noticed that same trend too, which is a bummer, but understandable. With Global Priority shipping, it arrives so quickly once it does ship that the delay isn't a big deal. And happily, I've had at least a couple of new release orders that still shipped in a timely manner (shipped by Fri/Sat before release date and received by the Mon/Tue of release week), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that happening again.

Doesn't it depend when the mistake was made and how/why? Just because they think it's the theatrical doesn't mean it was down to every detail.

Can something like this be bought from Amazon US? I'm crushed that I can't order this set as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend as intended, especially since the hoverboard package is a good deal right now, but I refuse to buy the US sleeved sets and I can't afford the ridiculous UK shipping currently (it won't ship to the US anyways - just checked), so I'm out of luck I guess. Nagaoka makes some sleeves just like that too that look just like that but they are Japanese and they cost a fortune from Ebay.

If I thought I could use those round plastic sleeves without having to make any modifications to the packaging I might consider it, but I still don't like the idea. I can't find any anyways I guess so I'm stuck.
