I got the copy of the x3, their 6.1 dts master really show it in my 7.1 speakers, when i switch audio from 7.1 to 5.1 digital sorround or bitrate, i can tell the difference, perhaps i need to get more 7.1 sound bd in the future.

I'm appalled at the amount of money I wasted chasing sound quality when I was younger. I was an audiophile, and my wallet suffered for it.

Today I have a DTS 5.1 system that's nearly a decade old, and unless I were to place a lossless audio system next to it I would never know I was missing anything. Sure I could tell the difference if I A/B'd them with an instant switch, but that difference doesn't mean DTS doesn't sound great. It sounds awesome.

That's why my marching orders to friends who are buying new systems is, "Buy decent speakers, and whatever amp you can comfortably afford, and don't sweat the difference."

All depends on what's important to the user. I have a 1080p set in my theater but my Projector is 720p (native) - can I tell a difference - yes. Do I mind, no. I'm in no rush to go 1080p on the projector end - 720p works fine for me -I'm not a videophile. My wallet doesn't suffer now either I buy on the used circuit now - gently used - but used none the less

You're using a PS3 right? I hope you are not trying to Bitstream the HD codecs - you can't do it with a PS3 - set your PS3 to PCM and then try it.
