Actually, many of Disney’s theme parks are open to a certain capacity. However, I know Disneyland is entirely closed in California. Disney isn’t at all happy about that & the government there hasn’t been of any help (are you surprised? LOL!) Disney is reportedly taking legal action against California. Disney has already announced they’re permanently moving their theme park headquarters from California to Florida as Disney World has been open since Q3 2020 & Florida has things operating overall pretty well unlike the mess in California.

Of course, Disney though has been having significant financial problems with their theme park operations prior to Covid-19 (Bob Iger is one reason why that is). One example, the renovation done at Hollywood Studios in Orlando particularly the Star Wars portion has been a financial disaster. Disney has been in financial troubles for sometime but that’s another story. I’ll just say this Disney isn’t the powerhouse many people think they are by any means.

Yep, I was sure to tell him this news on the comments of that video and others.

Speed. Heat. Bring them on!!! Never doubted the big fox movies would be coming for a second. You’ve only got to look for all the missing Fox juggernauts absent from the Star line up coming to Disney+ in three weeks to see the inevitable releases going forward.

Where is Aliens? Where is True Lies? Where is The Abyss?
They’ll all be coming in due course.
True Lies and The Abyss isn’t coming to Blu-ray or 4K anytime soon. Cameron has final say when those 2 gets released.

Aliens and The Abyss will come with the next Avatar films. True Lies is another story, as it is dated and jingoistic enough - Cameron admitted that is why it never made it to Blu-Ray, though that makes no sense with other studios pooping out similar "Muslim Mad Man!" films by the butt-load - to not be on Disney's release list.

Their literal hero was a paedophile. This shouldn’t be controversial. JFC.

Who in their right mind would ever trust anybody that would say a 4K release would never happen lol? It's not even remotely logical.

Not entirely. I’ll bet my son’s life you won’t ever see a UHD (or even a BD) of The Abyss or Homeward Bound, to name just two examples.

Great news, day 1 purchase. I hope there is a steelbook because I imported the nice BD steelbook with the 4K remastered BD.

Because as long as the billionaires get to make lots more money, who cares if a few hundred thousand people die?

This is a truly terrific announcement. especially since HEAT has been among the most requested UHDs since the format launched. So now that we're finally getting it, I would like to respectfully request THE BIG HEAT from 1953, and then also THE HEAT with Melissa McCarthy -- because that movie is funny as hell. That should complete my trifecta.

Based on my viewing of the 4K HDR digital, I can bet on these numbers (always happy to be proven wrong).

Maximum Content Light Level : 90 nits
Maximum Frame-Average Light Level : 50-60 nits

I really hope they spice up the HDR grading for the physical release.

I also liked Goodfellas. I'm just anticipating the fake HDR posts.

To be frank, there was barely any HDR moment on Heat. Also the APL was way too low and you get that Vaseline coated haziness on aerial shots (faithful to filmmaker's intent).

It just looked a bit firmer than the remastered BD in terms of definition. Otherwise, it did look underwhelming (IMO). Will be interesting to see if they do some tweaks for the physical release.
