Simply having a scope means nothing, unless it's been sighted in properly. And if you have it set for say 100 yards, it will cause you to miss the vital zombie shot at closer ranges if you don't compensate for distance. You could have the crosshairs directly on the Charles Manson forehead tattoo and wind up hitting the adams apple or chest instead.

But I'm pretty sure that all zombies require the headshots...Romero or not. Brain has to be destroyed and all that, because the parts are still animated so long as the brain is active. That might be the Living Dead series...don't recall.

That was my original thought. A simple Ruger 10/22 with a few 50 rd. magazines is more than enough to take out zombies. You just need a headshot. And by using a small round like a .22 LR you can really load up on some rounds and not take up that much space. Now for taking out large groups of zombies I recommend one of these:

Just keep some distance, I imagine it would get pretty messy.
