Better priced and better stocked.

I had an odd find the other day at a Meijer. The London Has Fallen Steelbook (which was a Target Exclusive). I'm kind of curious how they ended up getting them unless there was a large supply that never sold that was redistributed.

Keep clicking this thread hoping for B2G1 news even though I know it will be in its own thread. Ah, wishing thinking!

The Birds steelbook was an excellent price at $19.99 and I saved 5% with my red card.

Best bet is news will come out on a Friday or Saturday. Us employees are not informed of sales in advance, but the Target app gives a sneak peek at the following week’s ad around Friday/Saturday.

was in-store this evening and spotted a display with a couple of the old paramount steelbook line: wolf of wall street, jack reacher, plus the walmart rocketman. also the sony pop art best buy exclusive of karate kid and ghostbusters, the new universal 4k steelbooks for the sting, the birds, psycho, shrek, animal house, and fast & furious, as well as a new bd/dvd combo (no digital on the label) of creed ii (same art as former best buy 4k exclusive, so following the pattern of wizard of oz, full metal jacket, joker, etc.) and rampage (appears to be the same as the former best buy exclusive, but no mention of dvd or digital on the j-card). also the spike lee 7 joints dvd collection (bit cheaper on amazon), which is universal but mixes movies that are mostly now on blu-ray by kino lorber, but each one costs more than this whole set!

I'm eyeing that The Sting 4K steelbook, and I typically don't care for steelbooks.

I'll post back here if/when I find anything tomorrow (later this) morning.

If it follows last year's pattern (and assuming I'm not forgetting anything), there were B2G1s in Jan, Feb, Apr, Jun, Oct, Nov, & Dec. So I, too, am hoping for one in the next few weeks. Although I haven't exactly been patient, and I realize the sales in the first months of this year have already been timed differently.

An ultra-budget collection of Spike Lee movies but it's DVD only? That's so rude. But I guess the ones like Mo Better Blues and Clockers probably aren't updated from the 15 years ago releases.

I picked up 4k steelbooks of Animal House, Psycho and The Birds.

Thought of getting the sting. But never seen it.

Because DVD still outsells Blu-ray.

as noted in my post, universal seems to have sold the rights for half of them to kino (clockers, mo' better blues, crooklyn, jungle fever), which released them on blu-ray last year (inside man, do the right thing, and blackkklansman are the holdouts, though do the right thing now has 4k and criterion, and bkm has a 4k). idk much about kino, but $17 for one of those four, vs. all seven on dvd, that's no contest :X

Yeah it's unfortunate those are more expensive. I want them eventually but they're not yet priority. But I can understand for Universal if licensing those four films out to Kino made more sense than authoring and distributing them on a larger scale themselves.

The DVD set's not something that I want, because those Kino titles are the bulk of what I'm missing of Spike Lee's on blu-ray and I would still want them if I owned this. But it's a smart way for Universal to keep making some extra cash with these titles and still sell Do the Right Thing and Blackkklansman UHDs at a premium.

I was in that exact Target store a few days ago! I bought one of The Birds steelbooks on the bottom left (there were 3 of them before I showed up).
