I understand you have to move games back and forth regardless of you use internal extra storage or external USB. Is there and speed increase to moving games by using one or the other?

How long does it generally take?

Just trying to figure out the best play with the new battlefield around the corner.

Thanks!
2TB internal SSD is probably the sweet spot if you have the money for it. 1TB will be more affordable but based on the COD file sizes you'll probably run out of space pretty fast even with a 1TB in the mix.

Once you have an SSD installed you don't need to transfer games around since you can play PS5 games off of it just as if you were playing them off of the built in SSD.

You only need to transfer PS5 games if you are using USB external storage, be it HDD or SSD. External storage can only hold the PS5 games and can't play them so you'd have to swap about the games you want to play and manage your space. Depending on what USB device you get transfer times aren't that long, you could be looking at around 6mins to transfer about 50GB if you go for USB SSD.

If you have a lot of PS4 games, then the best solution is to keep them on an external storage device since they will play just as well from external as they would on the internal. Then prioritise your internal storage exclusively for PS5 games.

If money is no object you can get a 4TB Gen 4 SSD.
