I didn't even realise there were any IMAX scenes for this movie.

Oh, there probably wasn't then. I just assumed.

I originally watched this movie in IMAX 3D at a science museum, but I'm guessing IMAX 3D doesn't guarantee the aspect ratio will be 16x9 (or whatever the IMAX ratio is, it's close to that I think). Is that right?

Nasty little stunt they pulled on us in the UK for the digital copy of Far From Home, rather than including it with the BD

Correct. Films shown in IMAX 3D have had various aspect ratios, sometimes they are consistent through the whole movie, sometimes they vary. See the IMAX/variable aspect ratios thread: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=286604

Since 2002 there has been a total of 7 Spider-Man movies made with a 8th Spider-Man movie scheduled to be released in theaters by mid December 2021. Perhaps one day there might be a complete 4K Ultra HD boxset released for all 8 Spider-Man movies at the end of 2022.

Out of the 7 Spider-man movies that have been released so far on the 4K Blu-ray format, only a total of 3 Spider-Man movies have been released on the Blu-ray 3D format. The Amazing Spider-Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man Homecoming have all three received a Blu-ray 3D release. Maybe there might not be anymore Spider-man movies released on the Blu-ray 3D format.

I think you're forgetting about Spider-Man: Far From Home. That received a Blu-ray 3D release in several countries.

8 spider-man movies have been made, 3 Tobey Maguire spider-man, 2 Andrew Garfield spider-man, 2 Tom Holland spider-man(although he made 3 more participations in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers Infinity War and Endgame) with another still to come and Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse. Of those, 5 movies, got 3D releases: Amazing Spider-man 1 & 2, Spider-Man Homecoming & Far From Home and Spider-Man Into the Spiderverse.

Counting Spider-verse I have 5 in 3D though I guess Spider-verse isn't really in the same grouping as the live action versions

Were the first 3 ever released theatrically in 3D? I really don't remember, but I didn't think they were.

the Raimi ones weren't no, it was a bit too early for 3D resurgence then.

I was talking about USA releases, in the USA we do not get as many Blu-ray releases when compared to other countries.

Spiderverse counts as it has been release in the cinemas, it's just an animation version of our frendly neighbourhood... you know who!

Also, in Spiderverse he mocks himself in Raimi movies.

US bandwagon for 3D by Sony and Disney as stopped several years now.

Do yourself a favour and if you haven't bought them from foreign countries in 3D: do it!

If you already have... never mind about this message.

I'd say it's pointless to talk about US 3D disc releases from Sony and/or Marvel at this point. If you're in the US and still interested in collecting 3D discs in this day and age, you should know that your only real option is to import the vast majority of your discs. It's nice to reminisce about the "good ol' days" when every studio released 3D discs of their movies in the US, but those days are long gone.

There are still Blu-ray 3D releases in the United States in 2021, but a lot less then what it use to be, mainly smaller studios releasing a few Blu-ray 3D discs every year. I have imported a few standard Blu-ray discs that are region free over the last 10+ years, however I have not yet imported any Blu-ray 3D discs.

Well my friend you are missing out on like 75% of the 3D movies released in the last few years!
