Twice. For some reason, I thought he was too proud. Plenty of actors who started young in the same period as him liked to pretend as they got older and fatter, without the movies ever acknowledging it. Look at James Stewart with Grace Kelly in Rear Window. They just caked makeup on him and never talked about the age difference. Anyway, I know it's a little thing, but it made me respect Wayne a little more.
