The slipcovers were still available at Walmart on Black Friday but were in poor condition. I took my chances and ordered it from Amazon and got a pristine slipcover instead. They are still out there.

That's still pretty recent though. It usually took a year or two before slips went out of OOP unless you were Sony.

I expected BestBuy to come through with a slip instead of Amazon, instead I got some cracked spines and no slips.

Your question presented a "slipcover going OOP" as a unique issue with a movie over a year old. I was just trying to make sure you know that's not unique at all, and is in fact completely normal. It certainly didn't seem like you thought it was "obvious" from what you wrote.

Besides, no one's anecdotal answer will help you know whether your particular copy will have one anyway.

I've actually avoided purchasing UHDs on Amazon because I don't know if it will come with a slipcover or not.

Nowadays I either go to Best Buy or order over eBay where I can be sure.

From my years of talking to people on here, the main reason usually seems to be anal retentiveness about having a "complete product." It's good these people exist though, they support the format with full price day one buys more than the average.

I tried to watch this last weekend and was having issues with the disc. Has anyone else had issues trying to watch the disc on an Xbox One X? I ended up just watching it through Vudu.

Yes - my copy had a freeze at one point during Stallworth's induction scene when the camera pans left to right on the members. Sony x700.

I'm glad I noticed that you commented on this. I'll have to go back and test out my disc on the Series X. I tested another disc that I had issues with while trying to play it on a X1X and then it worked fine on the Series X. I'm thinking maybe my drive was going bad.

More complicated than that, but, yes, any of us who support the format should be exempted from constant disparagement. Frankly, those who can't empathize with collectors should simply zip it.

It's $13 at Sunrise and Do The Right Thing is $12. I'm gonna go pick them both up today if they're in stock in store.
