Yeah it would. That would make The Dark Knight look like Denis The Menace being released on Blu- Ray.

Maybe collectively but I doubt it will do better than Dark Knight. Catalog releases can't touch new release numbers. I was a huge Star Wars fan once upon a time (even went to the first ever Convention in Denver before Phantom Menace was released) but I probably won't buy these on blu.

Not until they're about $10 a pop.

I disagree. Many people hold the originals with high regards. Look at the sales on DvD. People want this on High Def and will buy these in plenty on Blu.

And I am pretty sure Star Wars was released on DVD it broke records for most units sold...when it was available as a pre-order.
If that tells you anything, a Blu-Ray release would destroy any record

Oh I hope it's the blu-ray announcement.
Probably gonna be about the live action series though.

I am scared to see how much the Star Wars set costs when it is released, because I will not be able to refuse to buy it.

Which release?

I'll wait for the numbers to prove me right. That is, if it ever gets released. It won't be the highest seller of all time on blu.

i think star wars will sell at an insane pace once released....but then drop off tremendously because almost everyone that wants it will buy it around release

i'd say they have a chance at topping Dark Knight's numbers, but i wouldn't say for certain seeing as how many skeptical fans there are that won't buy the first release at all and will wait for the "ultimate super-duper collectors set THIS IS THE REAL DEFINITIVE EDITION" version

In a final move of George Lucasness, he announces that he will release them on Blu-ray 6 months apart from one another in the following order - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Audiences will get to delight in Jar Jar's voice in high-definition audio and see the fine details in Watto's skin for the first time!

Empire will easily outsell Dark Knight..First week numbers will be like nothing
we've seen before, and will move hardware.

sure will. People think just because the brand is relatively dormant that its about to fade into obscurity. No way. Star Wars isnt just a franchise anymore, it's a way of life.

For those wondering about Star Wars' general popularity, it's one of the sci-fi franchises that pretty much everyone loves, even people who hate sci-fi. Yeah it's not just a movie, it's a way of life, one that changed Hollywood and the rest of the world...forever.
