Depends entirely on the implementation strategy and the populations willingness to enforce restrictions upon themselves for the greater good.

Common denominators between the nations with the highest relative Covid-19 deaths and unsuccessful lockdowns, are a low level of trust between Government and people and what I call an epidemic of fake news/alternative facts media.

The nations that have fared the 'best' during the crisis, are also the ones that actually followed the recommendations of the WHO, whether intentionally or not.

Ha, that's funny Tom Cruise is comparing the film to the KS Chiefs' big comeback win. One of the most thrilling wins, leading into one of the biggest losses of a 21 point lead in the next game, to throw it away.

Cruise would eventually tap Kosinski to direct the long-awaited “Top Gun” sequel, “Top Gun: Maverick.” The film stars Cruise, Miles Teller and Glen Powell and bows this December.

Top Gun, I can barely get through that movie as it seems 90% of it is spent in that bar setting, or in the restaurant, or anywhere but in an actual jet, with only 10% in the jet fighting enemies.

Iron Eagle, in terms of Jet action, is the superior action film IMO back then and even today.

I have Top Gun on blu ray 3D, and will try to give it another watch but it's just not a movie made for someone like me who prefers more urgency in the storyline and action for a jet action film. I don't want to see the hero lounging around for half the movie it seemed.

The good news is, this is an all new film, so it deserves a new chance and it might be more entertaining overall too. Hopefully.

Yeah gotta say I prefer Iron Eagle too and would love to see that finally come to bluray. I saw top gun again last week and enjoyed it for the 80's relic that it is, but I understand fully why Hot Shots chose to spoof it. When actual true conflict arrives at the end, it's pretty generic, unexciting, almost like an afterthought. Like they figured they couldn't just have 80% training exercices.

Thanks. Yeah, in terms of action when watched one after the other, Iron Eagle is much more focused on the jet action than the leisurely lives of the pilots, training and their families as seen in Top Gun. In Top Gun, there seems to be no pressing urgency for a good portion of that film.

A blu ray of Iron Eagle would be welcome.
