Really, I think I'm in love with Barbara Stanwyck. I'm waiting for Night Nurse (1931) and Baby face (1933) on BD.

Am in the UK. After all the plaudits I thought I'd try Moviezyng. Disaster. I too have not had my package form the WB sale. Blair got in touch about a mistake with their distributor inflating the customs value instructing punters "DO NOT PAY" and Moviezng will resend. Got in touch as instructed - NOTHING. Cowboy outfit. This looks to be a major issue.

I got this email too, but weirdly after having received my order in the UK 2 weeks ago. Hope your parcel is just caught up in customs and gets resolved soon.

The TCM Film Festival begins tomorrow, with the next WAC announcements probably coming as little as a day after it ends. Last year two of the July restorations debuted on the festival shortly before being announced, and this year there are a total of eight films that may have had work done on the schedule:

The Flame and the Arrow(1950)
The Gay Divorcee(1934)
Jewel Robbery(1932)
Little Women(1949)
Maisie Gets Her Man(1942)
Pride of the Marines(1945)
Three on a Match(1932)

I've never seen this film but it looks fab. I need the BD, though. I'm strictly rockin' the spinning discs for now. I hope this is one of the new WAC releases.

The Barbara Stanwyck film I most want on blu-ray is Howard Hawk's Ball of Fire.

Barbara is in my top three favorite actresses. I only knew her from TV re-runs of The Big Valley when I was growing up. I only discovered who she really was, and her magnificent classic film career performances, when I got into blu-ray.

For me, it's THE TWO MRS. CARROLLS, not only because of the pairing of screen legends Stanwyck and Humphrey Bogart but also because it's the type of over-the-top, lushly produced melodrama I love to watch on a rainy afternoon.
