VEI did not go back to the original 16mm elements on "Stargate SG-1", they did exactly what KLI said is the only way that anybody would ever release "The Outer Limits" on blu, they upscaled the SD versions.
Also, finding the special effects and adding them back.

For one thing, I think the 1978 film can only be one of two:

Zero to Sixty
Uncle Joe Shannon

Unless the Insider was lying about there being no AIP titles in the deal (this would bring Here Come the Tigers and Our Winning Season into the mix).

For another, that new-to-disc Cannon title can only be one of three:

Thunder Alley (1985)
Duet for One
Hanna's War

Could The Defiant Ones be one of the 1958 titles?

I'm actually surprised no one has bothered releasing that one, considering it's a high profile title and the talent involved. Didn't the Insider at one point say it was not avalaible and with another label? Did I imagine that. In any case, it's probably with Criterion.

That's good to know. I have the first series of Stargate SG-1 and to my eyes it looks very good; Full 1080p as stated. So there is hope for The Outer Limits. I always have hope. And these postings have been very informative. Thanks to everyone contributing to the discussion over the past 3 or more pages in this thread.

It's with another label and it's been with them for a while.

So basically, what you are saying, is that the rights for Best Of The Best and Kickboxer magically went from Sony and LG to MGM over night and you have picked them both up for 4K Special Edition releases?

Thanks Mr. Kino Lorber Insider! Always liked you.

I completely forgot Eureka had released it. It's funny considering I own that one. Anyway, my point still stands as it has yet to receive a release for Region A folks.

Has it been established that the 1952 title from Kino's MGM deal is not "Bwana Devil"? Would love to see that one jump out at us in Blu.

I remember reading an article years back that stated there were rights issues with Thunder Alley. Would be nice if that was no longer the case.

Well, it was pretty much a given. Honestly, I can't see any other label releasing it. Arrow has moved away from classics films with the sort of demise of the Academy line, it's not the type of film Shout would release or any other of the remaining labels for that matter.
