What's wrong with his statement other than the release in question has four movies on two discs instead of just one disc.

Both. No lie, both. Canary for more of a mystery/old dark house feel with a lot of one liners. Breakers for a more urbane Hope comedy until a "haunted" island final half hour. Both are a lot of fun though.

Sorry, Wrong Number - unlikely since it would merit a standalone release

1949 x 1
Abandoned
Chicago Deadline
City Across the River
Illegal Entry
Manhandled
The Story of Molly X
Undertow

1950 x 5
Dark City
The Lawless - unlikely since it's a Pine-Thomas production
No Man of Her Own - I wish, but ruled out since it was released on DVD by Olive Films
One Way Street
Outside the Wall

1955 x 1
The Desperate Hours - unlikely since it would merit a standalone release

1956 x 1

As far as I know, Sorry, Wrong Number, No Man Of Her Own and The Desperate Hours are all Paramount-owned, and The Price Of Fear was released in a box set already.

I believe the same goes for some of the work from Harmony Korine and Larry Clark as well.

Speaking of crime films, any idea when the The Cop (1970) will be released?
Speaking of Delon, I was just watching "Scorpio" on DVD last night with Delon & Burt Lancaster and thinking about how someone needs to get the Blu-ray rights to it. I know TT released it but that's been years ago. It's an MGM title but someone suggested that old MGM titles are with Warner Bros. If so, then there is probably not much chance that "Scorpio" gets another Blu-ray release anytime soon.

That's a United Artist film, so it's with MGM, meaning it's not with Warner. I have the TT release and it looks amazing, but there should be a release in circulation. Burt Lancaster and Alain Delon are great in. I think Alain Delon might be my favorite French actor, so hoping we get more films with him on Blu-ray soon enough.

I'm hoping City Across The River shows up in one of the upcoming noir box sets. It is Tony Curtis' first screen credit film (billed as Anthony Curtis). Kino seems to love Tony Curtis as do I. I really hope Kino acquires this one in the next Universal deal...

Good work with your guesses. I think there is still one Universal stand alone titles left from 1967, and hoping we hear about that one soon.

We won't have to wait long - according to the Insider should be revealed imminently (though I believe it's from 1966).

I'm kind of hoping for City Across the River myself, not only because of early appearances by Tony Curtis and Richard Jaeckel, but because I could always use a little more Thelma Ritter in my life!

Oh **** I've been wanting to see this movie for years. It's probably terrible like all 60s Universal fare but Jean Seberg is la femme idéale and so I must buy!
