Did you pay 19.99 or 22.99 for Outfit in store? Target says 19.99 when purchased online... and I assume they do not price match that in store. Sigh.

Can’t see them not stocking movies like The Batman and Uncharted for release day, and certainly can’t see them stopping movie inventory altogether quite yet. The mainstream titles should still be safe for the time being. |

And yes, if for some reason it does ring up $22.99, they will price match the $19.99 from their website. Remember, get it by Saturday. On Sunday, it will likely go to the regular price of $22.99 both online and in-store. |

![]() Well...Do we know what the "fine print" of this hypothetical sale will be? Has the sale actually been advertised yet?! Like coupons, the terms are usually provided pretty clearly. Sound like folks are basing assumptions on past sales, and putting the cart before the ![]() |

I believe this happened to every Allied Vaughn MOD title from any studio (i.e. including Universal, Paramount, etc.).

Some producers are more concerned than others. They don't want the movies to lose value too soon, nor do they want people to be tempted to wait and buy physical over vaporware, because they've caught on that it'll be cheaper to do so and comes with its own vaporware anyway. Studios haven't allowed newer releases to be advertised below MAP without their approval for decades. Maybe they're just now catching on to how Target's promotion has essentially been circumventing studio policy. Or maybe they let target slide in the past because they underestimated its appeal. Or maybe they're still seeing significantly lower profits at the box, and such isn't being offset by people willing to pay $20-$30 rentals, via their favorite streamer. So it's more important to them to regulate physical prices for longer periods. Regardless, such heavy-handed regulation, along with a veritable end to price competition for movies (not to mention games) is the future of home video that the whole digital distribution movement has been leading to. Forest and trees.
I;m more concerned that Ingram entertainment has lost it's contract with Allied Vaughn entirely and it's just not related to any sort of potential upcoming sale. Ingram is the key to this and not Target since Target never touched those items anyway. at most they were just the order takers. If Ingram has dropped AV (or AV dropped Ingram) this leaves Alliance as the only wholesaler involved now. As far as I'm aware Walmart, BBY, Amazon, all the DD sibs source their AV disc through Alliance. If Ingram is out then one major rat now owns the Cheese distribution with the possibility that Allied Vaughn might be pulling some or all it's contracts back into the home office. If they cut off Alliance (or make pricing terms much stricter) then all of the end users may be in for a very bad surprise. Would it be reasonable to think they'd pull everything and make every item flow through A/V- Moviezyng as a single source? Seems unlikely, but as Anderson, and B&T, and the half dozen other wholesalers pulled out, went bankrupt, sold out (voluntarily or or not) it doesn't seem it's benefitted the buyer. |
