KLI, can you say if this Paramount deal was made up entirely of titles Kino requested, or were there titles you were required to take to get some of the ones you requested?

Or is that too much inside info?

KLI - random question mostly outside of the deal as I imagine at best we'll only see a small amount of these titles before the end of the year. Until now there have been 2 UHD titles a month for the year (with a few delays maybe condensing some titles so that there are three in one given month), but now that the queue of pending 4K releases is growing to be several dozen, do you foresee them coming any quicker in the last part of the year? Like, is it possible in the Fall we could have 4 or 5 in one month or is that not going to be feasible?

We're hoping to start doing three 4KUHD titles per months, anything more than that is not possible. Right now we only have one title for August (Paths of Glory) and trying to work as fast as we can to add a second title.

17 films from 70's? Now that's what I'm talking about! One of them has to be The Shootist or Black Sunday. Or at least Gunfight. I would say the Longest Yard is a safe bet, unless someone else is releasing that.

No ultimatums, they were either titles we had asked for or titles that had been newly restored by their preservation department that we added to the deal.

Another never on DVD Paramount title from the 80s is Martha Coolidge’s Joy Of Sex (available in HD digitally).

I'm going to guess that Islands in the Stream (1977), Joseph Andrews (1977) and The Last Tycoon (1976) fall into that category as well.

The master is the same master. We're adding subtitles and putting the two films on one disc.

The first two for sure. No one in their right mind would go out looking to release Joseph Andrews on Blu-ray, maybe if it was part of a package.

Glad it turned out well for you guys. Feels like we have been hoping for a new Paramount deal for a lifetime.

Two questions and one that I'm pretty sure you won't answer.

Can you specify how many films you have from the years 1976 and 1977?

This one is a long shot, but it's Friday! I'm guessing John Wayne and Kirk Douglass are shoe ins for some of the releases. Just wondering how many titles starring each you might have gotten in the deal?

So, I ordered directly from KL, after speaking with a helpful gent on the phone, whereupon he assured me that I would get a copy with the fixed audio. Really great customer service!

I got my BD in and the taps sound muffled and scuffed, but that's the corrected disc, correct? Because for the defective disc you cannot hear the taps at all?

I just don't want to cost KL any extra money by sending me a replacement if I already have a corrected disc, even if the corrected disc sound a little muted.

No, we have both 4K and Blu-ray rights to all the UHD titles in the deal.
